Manual disc brakes

I purchased a 68 and it has manual front disc bakes, The problem is that it does not brake very well, I found that a 68 does not come with manual disc, The calipers appear to be stock, I have read that if I change the master cyl. to a 84 ranger it would help. I would like to have suggestion on this topic. Thanks

I have manual discs on my ‘68 from Scarebird. It uses a 1975 Maverick master cylinder for manual disc front and drum rear. Works great but not going to out brake a modern car.
