My 3550 has been operating poorly since I installed it and, truthfully, I've been afraid to do anything about it. Transmissions have always been a metal case filled with voodoo and sending them off for service is an automatic $1k just for them to touch it.

Well, I found this guy's channel yesterday and I have REALLY enjoyed his videos and he has taken enough mystique out of how the manuals work that I'm comfortable enough to tackle taking mine apart. He covers a lot on Tremec transmissions, from T-5s to 3550s and beyond. ]

He's quirky but the info is really digestible. Also has a website that sells parts if needed.

That guy is a wealth of knowledge. His parts are kinda high in cost so I just get mine from Astro Performance. I tore my 3550/TKO down chasing a vibration and it wasn't that bad.

I will check out his channel when I get the time, and potentially add it to Stangnet TV.

Ended up being the input shaft not being shimmed correctly from Tremec. I called Joe Dederichs with Dederichs Motorsports (great guy and a huge Tremec dealer) and he helped me out with it.

Needless to say I did a lot of unnecessary work but I learned a lot.

Hmm. My car shakes like a dog passing a peach pit at highway speeds. I'm going to start with the tailshaft shim and I may have to call for help assuming that isnt it.
