Hey, I was wondering if anyone has swapped the Marauder's 4.6 DOHC engine into the Mustang? Does anyone have any experience with this? Do you think it would be easy? Thanks

Why not just do a Mach 1 swap? Its been done and it puts out a little more power. You can get one new for under 3k.. And if you don't want to use the shaker, you don't have to..

I think the intake on the Marauder's 4.6 has the throttlebody on the drivers side, where all mustangs have it on the passenger side. Otherwise I have no idea.

I was under the impression that it was more or less the same thing as the Mach 1/ N/A Cobra engine

its the same as a N/A Cobra / Mach 1 motor, just the intake faces the drivers side. youre better off with a 99/01 cobra motor or a mach 1 motor, the marauder one is decent, just slightly down on power

Any links to places that sell Mach1 motors for that price?

The Marauder most likely has the cast crank, not forged, because of the automatic transmissions.

If this is going in a manual tranny car, I'd say go for a Mach 1 engine with the forged crank.

Yeah, the Marauder is fast with the DOHC, but I just thought the Mustang would be faster with the DOHC. But I doubt I'm going to do it because if I need an engine I could always get the Mach I crate or If I can do enough research on it, I can get a junkyard 5.4 and drop it in.....all depending if the price is right.
