in my house
i laugh in everyones face that doubted me :rlaugh:,lots of people said it would never run......specially bill he said that my "hodge podge" of parts would never work well hmmmm i found i had 8 burned out injectors and temporarily replaced them with 19 pounders so now that i found out that thats what was wrong i am on a quest to find another set of 24's

thanks to all who gave advice especially one member in particular

tommy cummings (GT_TOMMY):nice:

thanks i will be sure and do a write up on what all i have done to get this thing runnin for further searches and further swaps....maybe someone will make it a sticky or some stuff.......

hes saying me. and check the threads i never said it the way he is characterizing it.
i said it wont work without the correct combination of part. the threads are so contradictory who knows what he use.d

i am glad to hear its running. i would not writeup a hodge podge for a swap sticky.

doesnt matter what wiring harness you use just as long as it has enough wires....your gonna have to repin stuff or cut and tape either way any parts will work.......

now for my next swap........

found the perfect motor today.......i think its a 2007 i am not sure of the year but its a 5.4 supercharged lightning motor with like 20,000 miles on it

so the engine the harness and computer 2,500 not a bad deal

now if i can just find a nice LX notchback to put it in:shrug:
and bill you didnt say hodge podge your right but you used alot more words and you alos said that my engine harness wouldnt work and you also told me to beat my firewall and to use the original mark 8 intake manifold...lol

but i dont think i used a bad combo all i did was put a 99 gt harness in a 99 V6 car and then hacked the **** out of it....lol

and the only reason i used the 96 MK8 pcm was because it is cheaper than the cobra PCM and better to use it than the 93 MK8 pcm so i made my 93 MK8 an obd II i dont see it as a bad deal....there is another forum that i belong too and there are people all the time doing the exact same thing but with a few different parts....you can use anything you want for christ's sake if you wanted to wire the whole car with speaker wire you could, it might catch on fire though but my point is its running and i did it my way used the parts i wanted to use and its running i prolly only got like a few weeks into it just in the evenings

which brings me to my conclusion, any one need a 96 cobra PCM or a 99 gt PCM with a superchip in it?

Alan, thanks for the good words. Glad to be of some help. I knew you would get that engine going. It was just a matter of time! Good job and good luck with all your porjects, Tommy.

holy crap, talk about missing the point.

What people are trying to tell you is that if you use the motor, harness, and computer from the same car, you will have a much easier time making things work. You know, without posting a new thread every day whining about how your ghetto hack job isn't running and you don't know why and nobody will tell you over the internet :/

Seriously, we could all do without you getting pissy when your questions are answered by people who are trying to help you and you reply back with the attitude of a 9 year old.

I'm glad you got your frankenstein running, but maybe be a bit less snotty to the people who made an effort to answer your questions despite your attitude.

One reason people suggest using the same motor, harness, and computer is because when you have an issue down the road you can easily diagnose it, rather than looking for which piece of electrical tape came undone, and WTH does this wire do, and why won't the damn thing fire any more?!? But you'll figure that out when you get done laughing at the people trying to help you.

You know if you put a Lightning engine in a Fox with the supercharger still installed, you're going to need like a 10 inch cowl hood to clear the supercharger, right?

i know... aint it great

and as a far as using same motor same harness same this that and what not
you use whatever parts are available to you and what you can afford....if you would have looked back at the other posts you would have seen that i got the MK8 for free and there was no way in hell i was using the pcm or harness from that car
