Mark VIII 4.6 DOHC swap

my friend has a 94 GT he found a 4.6 dohc out of a Lincoln mark VIII at pull a part and can get the motor for $130 he is interested in swapping it into his 94 gt the Mark VIII has everything still on it......what would it take to be able to swap this motor into the car?

this might be better to ask over in the 4.6 forum, but I supposed you'd need a 4.6 K-member, wiring harness, computer, headers, and bellhousing for starters.

www.modularfords.com they have a modular conversion forum and the mkIII swap is talked about a lot over there. I was thinking of doing it but it was gonna 300 dollar me to death

wow that would be pretty badass! basically, just think about a 96-98 cobra....you need the mm, and all the other goodies....

try to get the wiring harness and computer from the junk yard

thats like trying to put an 03 cobra blower on a sohc gt....way too much bs for it to be worthwhile

Depending on the year, I'm pretty sure some of the early 4.6s had the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 5.0, so you may not need a new trans.

heck ... if nothing else, at least take the motor and sell it if it proves to be too much of a pain to install. those motors are worth alot more than $130.

i'd get the tranny too if it was still available
