Hello all,
I am in the process of converting my car to mass air from speed density. What is the best ECM to look for? My car is an 86' GT vert AOD. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

well the two that are the best to choose from(IMO) are the A9P, and the A9L. Being that you have an auto, i think the A9P will work the best for you.

MASS air conversion instructions from http://www.stangnet.com/tech/maf/massairconversion.html FREE
A9L (5 Speed) computer from junkyard $100-$150
A9P (Auto or in a pinch, 5 Speed) computer from junkyard $100-$150
70MM MAF from 94-95 Mustang GT - $40-$70
MASS Air wiring harness kit $30-$85

The whole thing is probably less than $300 using junkyard parts.

A9L computers are 5 speed only
A9P computers are automatic, but will work with a 5 speed.

Stuff from an 89 GT is the best way to go...No air bags to mess with and mass air. If you interested I have a complete 89 mass air computer harness. I used it to mass air convert my 83 gt and it's the way to go. If your interested pm me.

I have everything but the ECU, I was just wondering which numbers are the best to hunt for, It seems A9P is the best choice.
