I have heard that if you add a supercharger to a 4.6 that you have to do something with the MAF sensor. Does anyone know? I am wanting to add a centrifugal style to my 98 GT.

You can upgrade to a lightning MAF for $100 and that would handle it.

At least it's more erect and not floppy anymore.

Some kits will include a upgraded MAF from stock. You should be good from there and make sure to get it properly tuned.

If you get the Mongoose Kit from MPH it comes with a Lightning MAF. That will be good to about 400-450rwhp after that its time to upgrade to a SCT 2400MAF or add a Diablo MAFia to your existing LMAF.

If you plan on making over 450rwhp sooner or later then you should just start out with a SCT 2400MAF and save your self some money.

Those mafs are only going to be good if you run a draw though set up, having the maf pre supercharger. If you do a blow though setup, then you have the maf post supercharger. I am running a blowthough setup on my car, I am using a Lightning senson in a 3"x12" housing with a MAF flange and MAFia.
