Maximum Motorsports CC plate spacer question.....

Hey guys. I have a 96 GT and I replaced the shocks,struts and springs on it. I went with FRPP B springs because I didn't want too much of a drop. I currently have Tokico blue shocks and struts. For the spacers on the CC plates I ended up having to use 2 large and 1 small under the bearing and one small on top of the bearing. In MM's directions they say that is for a car that is stock ride height. When I had the spacers re-arranged other ways I was getting some contact with the hood(which is the factory hood). Do you think I will have any problems with this at all. It seems like the strut will still have some decent travel space before it hits the MM bumpstop. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

when i first put mine on i had the 2 small spacers under and the 2 large on top..i was also running them in negative orientation for the track though...now i have them back in positve orientation with the 2 large underneath and the 2 small on top...doesnt hit the hood and seems to have givin me a tiny tiny bit of hood clearence.. i think its more preference on how you wanna run them but if you play around with them maybe youll find your happy medium

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure if there was a "mandatory" way of doing them since the directions tell you specifics about the spacers for stock height or lowered height. I think what I may do is try 1 large spacer up top and the other 3 below to see if I can get a little more strut travel clearance and see if that still gives me hood clearance as well. Otherwise everything else with them is pretty straight forward.

When I installed mine on my 02 GT with cut Mach 1 springs, I ended up using 2 large and one small up top with a tiny bit of hood interference (I fixed that with a Dremel and then hid it with a bit of touch up paint). Mind you this is the Gen 2 SN-95, so things are a bit different from the Gen 1 like yours...

On my 04 Mach, the previous owner had installed quite a bit of parts, including MM CC plates and Eibach Pro Springs. He setup the CC Plates with 1 large and 1 small spacer up top.

I finished the car up last night and have to let it settle a little bit before I can get it aligned. In the meantime I may decided to run a large spacer up top and the rest down below. I'll have to think about it. The back springs were easy to get in but those fronts were a pain in the butt!

Gents:

The objective is to have the tip of the strut rod clearing the hood by 3/4". This maximizes (in most cases) the available travel. To check the gap, put a 2x4 across the fenders (use a terry towel under each side so you don't mar the paint). This makes checking the clearance gap very easy.

I lowered my 2001 mustang 2 inches i also went with tociko hp series set and MM caster camber plates. I have 2 large and 1 small on top and 1 small underneath. It did rub the inside of hood just notched a hole on each side and used a little touch up paint. Good to go.

Same for me too...just a tiny notch was needed for clearance. A little dab of paint and no one would notice.
