Did anyone else go to the MCA 30th anniversary show in Birmingham last weekend? There were only 4 MII's out of 1000 registered cars, plus 1 that came the day of the show, but at least they were all nice ones!

Phil brought his Monroe Handler, there was a perfectly restored Ghia, a really nice daily driver Ghia Sport, and a neat customized CBII project. The late entry was a white with red stripes CBII. No King Cobra's though...

The Handler and the Ghia Sport even got on the track for a couple of parade/photo laps, and looked great.

I'll get pictures posted in a few days.

I went on Friday but only saw one II. I was amazed at the number of Trooper Mustangs and SVO Mustangs. It is sad when low production specialty Mustangs far out number the II's.

I went all three days. That was my gray Ghia. She even got her MCA grill medallion presented by the MCA president right before we pulled out on Sunday afternoon. I was a little diappointed that there were not more IIs there like there were at the 40th anniversary show at Nashville, but the ones that were there were really nice. It was a great show, just a little hot. It was great to be showing my Ghia (Heather) again. I have been showing the King Cobra since I finished it but Heather will always be my favorite.

Hey Bill, I seen your II... I think I even took some pics but haven't downloaded them to my PC. For some reason I remember the Ghia being purple though? Very nice restoration you done on the car. Did you drive it down?

Hey David, mine was the light gray one with the cranberry interior. There was a dark blue one with a chamois top and interior there too. I did drive mine over from just south of Atlanta though. I just got the air conditioning fixed and it was really nice to be driving it again. I trailer the King Cobra, but the Ghia was my first car and I drove it to high school and college and really do miss driving it.

I made it Sat. morning till around 11:00. Man was the sun beating down! I saw the light gray/cranberry Ghia and Phil's Handler. There was a white 78 with red/orange stripes up on the hill, but the heat wore us down and we didn't get up there. Also saw a black/gold Cobra II with Shelby front apron coming in as we were leaving. Nice looking car. Anybody get pics?

I was at the show car entrance to the show field most of the weekend. Yes it was HOT! I was afraid that we were going to lose some of our older club members.

I got pics of Bill's Ghia, Elizabeth's Ghia Sport, Phil's Handler, and the customized CBII. Unfortunately by the time I made it up on the hill, the white and red CBII was gone.

We had a bunch of folks unhappy with the late registrants ending up on the hill. At least one trailered car turned around and left. Unfortunately there were only 1000 parking spaces on the main levels, and they were all filled by the August 11th pre-registration cut-off.

Still trying to get my home PC running again so that I can get the pictures downloaded...

I walked through the SVO section a couple of times. Wish I'd known that you were coming!

Ah, well...MCA is about due for an Anniversary show in the Carolinas. Maybe I'll finally have a car ready to show by then.

Ask and ye shall receive!

The rear spoiler and bumper cover were molded in...very nice work.

Its funny from this angle and on this smooth surface, it looks like pictures of a "Matchbox" car.

Thanks so much for the pics. The owner must have just finished painting the car since the interior and trim around the windows are missing. I like a lot of things about this II but the spoiler in the front looks really odd. The paint job is stupendous.

Hi David, I had the "purple" blue and chamois Ghia. Bill had the silver Ghia. Congrats Bill on getting your grill medallion. Really though, it was a shame that they didn't give out the awards all at the same time - indoors in the cool - so you could have received the recognition you truly deserved. It was great meeting everyone.

I so owe Phil for coming to my rescue and getting me another dash wiring harness 2 weeks before the show. I really appreciated it!

Thanks Elizabeth. It was great getting her medallion even if it was just a quickie presentation as we were getting ready to pull out on Sunday (literally, we caught Arley Whitsell presenting another one as we were packing up the car.) It was great to meet you and we had a great time talking to you guys.
