1st pass - fell asleep at the tree and bogged on launch. Yeah, I great-granny shift.

2nd pass - bogged badly again, more great-granny shifting and missed 4th gear. Yellow stang is Procharged and ran low 11s so I wouldve gotten waxed if I made a clean pass anyway.

3rd - My best run of the day against my buddies 10th Anni 03 Cobra. His halfshaft went SNAP!!! on launch.

nice man! that last run was good, i just dont see how you hook, are you on Drag radials now? I cant hook for crap, i went to the track last fall and i sucked bad, i had awsome trap speeds but my times were sheeit. 15" wheels with mickey thompsons next spring!

I granny launched around 2K. My best 60' on DRs is 2.0. On street tires, I usually pull off 2.5+ 60s. :rlaugh:

Nice looking car as well. I've never heard what a KB 2v sounds like, now I do...me likes! I would have expected a higher trap speed for the amount of power you're putting out though.

My car should trap higher but the bogged launches really slowed me down. I actually trapped higher (112mph) when I had a slipping automatic making 380rwhp.

yeah, you should definitely be quicker than a 12.8.

I know that a KB GT is such a pleasurable drive that it's alot of fun, even when granny shifting (it's all I do.) I run consistant 12.7's at 111-113 on street tires. It seems like everytime I crossed the line it was a 12.7x, I couldnt manage to get it any lower.

That's the problem with all of that low end torque the Positive Displacement blower makes. It all sounds good on paper and feels nice on the street, but when you're at the track you've really gotta have your **** together to grab those low ET's. Centrifugals don't make the bottom end that us Positive Displacement guys do, but at every test and tune I've been at, they're almost always the ones coming out on top amongst the weekend warrior crowd because the wheel spin is so much easier to control.

Need that Traction baby!!!

Nice runs laser! Sorry about your friends cobra :(

But I can tell you right now, that your trap speed is going down the drain do to your shifting speed. Long shifts have a HUGE impact on trap speed...thats the main issue, not so much the launch. Polish up on that shifting, and you will be seeing 115-118 in no time. Im not coming down on you at all lol...I know how hard the Ford M6 trannys are to shift right. Honestly I would probably miss EVERY gear if I were to try and speed shift. But even granny shifting I am 99% sure I would atleast miss 3rd.
Set me behind a vette or camaro 6spd and im golden, same for most 5spds....dont know why I suck SO bad with the Ford T-56s  .

When my car bogs it feels like I'm launching in 2nd gear. Even with the instant tq, it takes a bit more time to get going. My shifter feels pretty notchy compared to my other friends f-bodies and Vettes.

Earlier that day, my buddy with the 03 Cobra ran a 12.4 @ 113...and the only mod he has is a JLT CAI. He's making less hp/tq than me and actually ran better than some ppl with 500+hp ported Eaton Cobras. Driver mod goes a long way.

I agree. Having the right tires and suspension setup is more vital for those running positive displacement. My street tires is useless at the track.
