I recently cracked the block in my 85 carbed 5.0. I'm lookin to get a newer 87-93 longblock to toss in with a new carb and intake. My question is can I just run my mechanical fuel pump on the new motor? Do I just bolt the part where the pump goes to the block on and then the waterpump over top?

you need a timing chain cover that has a opening for the mech fuel pump and a ecentric circle that drives the pump on the top timing chain gear.

Another option might be to convert it to a low PSI elec pump. I was very pleased with the results when I did this on another car.

Good luck.

So.........would that be the one I currently have on my 85? Meaning I can transfer it to the new block.

Yes, transfer the cover and the cam eccentric over, bolt up the pump and you should be good to go!
