Current balance $889.22
Today’s meeting was held at Ma Possums at 4:00 PM.
Items discussed include the following:
• Leslie Snead, VP had been unsuccessful in contacting the lady that will do the t-shirts with personal cars on them. It was posted on the website that this project would have to be rescheduled to a different date from today. The club wants to be sure to get t-shirts before the car show in May. Further information about this will be presented at meetings and / or website.
• January 28th will be a car show at the Greensboro Coliseum.
• It was decided today that the month that dues are paid will be good for 12 months from then, rather than trying to collect only 1 time per year. Each club member will receive a car decal with the logo and website and a club member t-shirt. New decals and t-shirts are still being designed.
• Secretary / Treasurer will contact past officers for all the club information needed for proper record keeping.
• Checking account is set up for 2 signatures for any check over $500.
• All club business will be decided at meetings by a vote. However, treasurers were given the authority by a vote to write checks for expenses on items already decided.
• Annual car show will be held at Barkhouser on May 19, 2007, rain date June 2, 2007 from 8 am to 4 pm. Kim Demont will work on the flyers for the car show.
• Stacey has talked to someone in Charlotte about a DynoJet for the car show. The cost is $1,200 ($200 deposit in advance – 30 days prior to car show). He can do 20 cars in 8 hours, however will continue past that if cars are available. Fees for the dyno were decided: $60 per dyno that includes 3 pulls (club members will pay $50 for 3 pulls). The club can make a little money on the dyno if we charge $60 per car and have at least 20 cars. DynoJet is for rear wheel only.
• Curtis Allen will work on advertising, specifically free advertising for the car show through radio, newspaper, and Piedmont Shopper. However, it was decided that the club will be willing to pay for additional advertising if needed.
• We will have a donations jar for RCMC for expenses at the entrance of Barkhouser; however, because we will be at Barkhouser, we are restricted from charging admission. Also, Barkhouser is an insured lot, which will save the club a lot of money because insurance will not need to be purchased.
• Brenda will check with Scearce’s about donation of the FlowMaster mufflers. If we can get these, the tickets will be $5.00 each.
• Keith Aaron will talk with Mike’s Performance and Old Dutch for donations and/or sponsorships. Keith will also work on a banner.
• Leslie and Stacey will talk to Advanced Auto about donations.
• All members are asked to try to get donations for door prizes. Please have them available by the April meeting.
• We will have a 50/50 cash drawing - $1.00 per ticket, or $5.00 for 6 tickets.
• Car show registration will be $20 per car the day of the show, or $15 pre-registration. How the cars will be classed will be discussed at a later meeting, once we know how many trophies we can get. Also, the club needs to elect someone specific to determine how each car should be classed.
• We are having a fish fry on Feb 3rd at Old Dutch, Memorial Drive 10 am – 2 pm. Volunteers need to be there about 9 am. We will charge $5.00 per plate and each plate will have fish, cole slaw, baked beans, bread and a drink.
• Advanced Auto on Piney Forest wants our club to have a spring cruise in. More information on that will be discussed later.
• Leslie Snead brought in the flyers inviting other Mustang enthusiasts to join our club. These were handed out to volunteers who will place them on windshields of Mustangs in the area.
• Mike Lovern is working on club t-shirts.
• Greg Gammon is working on a new logo to include the new website for the car stickers.
• Mustang week at Myrtle Beach this year will be July 22 – July 29th. Most of the activities are usually at the end of the week beginning Thursday.
• Membership dues are now due for most members; please send your dues to Brenda Pointer, 4016 Pointer Road, Alton, VA 24520. One year for $15, or two years for $25.
• We will be having 2 meetings a month until the car show.
Next meeting will be Sunday, January 28th at 4:00 PM at Ma Possums.
Respectfully Submitted,
Melissa Gammon
Secretary
