Long tube headers are better than shorties, you will make more power but they cost more and the installation is a lot more involved.
Cams, are your camshafts. I'm sure SHM makes a set of cams for you car but are they really worth it. My opinion, no. You would be hit hard with the labor and void your powertrain warranty for a not so significant gain. I would put that money toward getting a supercharger or your other mods.
Everything else looks good

Warranty will be expired by then, but I think I'll scratch cams off the list anyway. Maybe the money will go towards the shaker. Thanks for the info.

Full length headers (I've heard these are better than short, true? anything else I need to know about them?)
O/R H pipes
Full catback
Cams (okay, what are they? I keep hearing about them, but no clue)
Shocks, struts, springs, C&C plates, sway bars, tire bushings (???)
Gears (3.73)
Desensecharger CAI
Shaker Hood (Not likely, but I can dream...)
Chip
King Cobra Clutch
Steeda race wing

What do y'all think?
Man, I'm gonna have to sell a lot of knives.

sounds like some good choices. im not a big mod motor guy, so i cant add too much, but from what i know...you will get better performance out of the longtubes over shorties, but as 5.0's said...there a pain to install. i dont know how much performance you would get from changing cams, but most guys ive seen running quick with mod. motors are still using the stock cams.

i personally love the sound of an x-pipe on modulars, but i guess thats more upto you on the sound YOU want. (*hypnotizes erich* you want an x-pipe, you want an x-pipe )

and if you dont go for the shaker...doesn't cervini's make a ram-air hood for the newer stangs? a friend of mine got 2/3mph more onto his 1/4 mile time just adding the hood. just a thought.

LOL, well, I'm not the one who has to worry about installing them. (erichmess_ has bad luck when modding a car himself). I like both types of exhaust, and I know Bassanni is awesome and I would get great gains from them, but I want more of a classic sound and look from my car. A nice rumble, which is why I decided to go with H's. Cervinis makes an awesome hood, the Stalker, which I love. I had completely forgotten about it, though. Might have to take it into consideration, but I gotta say, since I'm going for the "classic" look, the shaker is still in the lead.

I would look to being a porter at a car dealership. When I see what the porters do at my work everyday I wish I had been one when I was still in highschool. You will be around cars all day, and if you get a job at ford dealership you will get employee discount on parts. This is a damn good deal, when it comes to parts I get them for half or more off from what everyone else is paying

id love to do that or anything really, at a Ford dealer. Each time ive gone to Kelly ford to turn in an application, i never get a call back. I dont even know if they have porters there. i think they just use the detail guys to port stuff.

Well, I'm starting to become a regular at TJs. I'm about to comit to some mods soon. Looking like springs, brushings, full exhaust and maybe some long tube headers. Sometime soon. Just gotta decide if I want the longtubes or not. He's telling me not to, but since I'm staying N/A, I'm still considering them.

what to do what to do

erich i would for my 2 cents would go with the long tubes i know both my cars are 5.0 motors but the long tubes seem to have a lot more toque{spelling} an that is what makes a car move the coupe has long tubes with a x pipe flows an dumps but man that car sounds awsome since your not doing cams thought about a bigger throttle body an mass air ? what about subframe connectors just my 2 cents worth :OT: an the deal for the chrome ponys fell though so i m still looking for wheels for the coupe

Okay, so why is it TJ tells me they're a waste if everyone else is telling me they are good. I think I'll be putting off the modding again for a little while so I can get some more money and plan this out a little better.

You are talking about long tubes right? The reason he is probably saying that it won't be that much more of gain in HP over shorties, probably wants to save you some money also. The advantage of long tubes really starts to come into play when you are making some serious power. On a near stock car the HP advantage is nothing impressive. Its not like shorties are very restrictive themselves. I run them on my convertible, I put down over 300rwhp. If I switched to long tubes I wouldn't expect getting more than 10rwhp more. Now with heads, intake, and cam I would expect the switch to long tubes to add around 30rwhp over my shorties. To me long tubes are not worth the added work and money to put them in on near stock car.
I say skip any sort of shorty or long tube header right now, get an off-road H-pipe and cat-back. Then later on I would wait till you had a blower or nitrous on the car before considering going to long tubes.

Alright, now it's starting to come together for me. I guess I'm just kind of thinking far down the road, cause I do plan on having over 300 RWHP, so I thought it might be best to put them on now so when I hit that number, I won't have to swap anything out. More stuff to think about. Thanks for the info.

I'll relay the compliment on to dad. It took a lot of work to get him to drive that damn car!! He would putter around like an old lady. I go to run it through the cones on the Saturday before and it is a sweet car. It is really well balanced.

Back to Porsche boy. He was a pompus ass. I tried to talk to him too before we got started and he brushed me off. I guess I was just too common for his rich ass. I have a suprise for him at the nationals.

What happens on Nov. 23 / 24?? I am going to evolution on the 16th and 17th. Is there an event I can try my new skills at???

I will probably co-drive either dads 93 RX-7 there or Matts car the *ahum* 2 tone GXL RX-7. Dad will have his twin turbo Rx-7 ready to race by then for sure.
