Melbourne area stangs

As for the course, it looks sweet, but I'm getting tired of these Miata morons putting the timing box at an angle where we are headed straight toward it. Maybe they can handle a corner like that...but it's a bit more of a challenge for us. :uzi:

I hear ya, I can imagine nothing worse than tearing off a good run, only to have it ruined because you :uzi: a bunch of cones AFTER the timing box :bang:

Mustangs never have been known for their ability to make 90 degree turns!:nono:

Kevin

Yeah, I'm going to be there barring any major catastrophe between now and then. Since I have never driven in an auto-x I'm planning on going out on Saturday to get in a little practice and see how this thing handles.

I have driven it on a dragstrip many times before...and I have had it up to ultra illegal speeds on I-95 between Vero and Port Fierce, but I don't think any of that experience will help me.

I'm used to holding the engine at 5000 RPM, then getting three yellows and dropping the clutch just before a green. I don't think that technique will work here...especially on street tires! :D

hey i can get an awsome deal on a set of e t streets for my coupe they are 26 /10.50 /15 can i ask what size are your hoosiers are ? my coupe is just a weekend car so i can roll outter fender lip if i have to

I run a 26x10-15 Hoosier slick on the LX. A slick is measured at the tread, a DOT is measured at the sidewall cross section. The 26x10.5 ET Street is allmost the same as a 26x8.5 slick. They fit perfect on an 8" wheel with a 5.5" backspacing. If you can get them at a good price jump on them. I ran that exact tire year before last and pulled a 12.76 with a 1.72 short time in the LX with a stock engine. With heads, cam and intake I ran an 11.99 with a 1.66 short time. I even managed a best short time of 1.62 with the ET Streets, so they will definitly hook!

Just thought I would stop in and say Hello. I live in Palm Bay.

When/Where are the cruise nights for MMOM (I think that is right - Modern Mustangs of Melbourne)

TJ has been trying to get me to go to the Auto X for a long time so I am going to try and make it this Sat/Sun.

Hope to get to know some of you. I have not gone to a cruise night in about a year. Other priorities keep getting in the way.

BTW - anyone play baseball - we need pitchers!!!!!

Talk to you later.

I love baseball but I'm no pitcher and to make matters worse, I haven't even swung at a ball in forever. It would depend on what type of series you guys were playing to make me even consider offering my *skills.*

BTW guys, depending on what's going on tomorrow at work, I might show up (imagine that!).
