Melbourne area stangs

Where did you go? Obviously somewhere cold.

Oh, I saw what looked like another crystal white GTS yesterday. Or just a normal GT w/o a spoiler. :p Very nice looking car, though. Had a sweet exhaust.

Well, I ran my car last night. Weather wasn't terrible and track prep was decent. I did cam, intake, t/b only to go slower than when my car was stock. I'm gonna play with timing a fuel a little more though (18 timing, 38 fuel w/ vaccume off when I ran). It's still running rich too. Anyway, when the car was stock I ran 13.8@99 w/ 2.1 60'. Last night I ran twice and both were 14.1@97 w/ 2.1 60's. I still need to learn to drive too though.

Wow, Alaska? You see, people from there are supposed to come HERE this time of year, not the other way around. :p

Oh, for those who care, there's a Dark Shadow Grey MACH1 sitting in Kelly Ford's showroom. Very sweet car. Those seats freaking rock! :hail2:

WHY?

Hmm, its the middle of December, sounds like a good time to visit Alaska! Oh, it's cold this time of year? Psh, how cold could it possibly be?!?

Oh yeah btw I got my headers and x-pipe installed today. Definitely an improvement in the sound and third gear department. Hope to see some of you guys tomorrow out at Lugos! You should run your beast Dan, I might have competition. ;)

why alaska? i dont think he can ask the air force that question:jester:

so know i guess you're not "just a 5oh" anymore:jester: what brand headers and x pipe? o/r x pipe? longtubes, shorties? come on man, DETAILS:nice:

as for lugo's tomorrow, i have to work:mad: im hoping sometime after the new year, to get the car on a dynojet dyno:nice: and does anyone know if the track is open next week? i wanna run this damn thing, its killing me:jester:

Oh in that case, who'd he piss off? :jester: Not doing Siberia next week, right?

They're BBK shorty unequal and a BBK x-pipe. I've got that 'new exhaust' smell, which isnt quite as nice as the 'new car' smell...

Shame you wont be at Lugos. We'll try not to have too much fun without you. :P

Hmmm, with a drop from 99 MPH to 97 MPH it sounds like he lost rather than gained RWHP. It would be my guess that with the larger intake and MAF and the larger headers two things haoppened. First, the larger port runners and MAF slowed down the intake velocity. Second, the larger diameter exhaust is causing the the exhaust to lose too much velocity as well. This is because with the stock heads (the bottleneck) he just can't take advantage of the extra flow capability of the new parts. This reduces the ability of the cylinders to reach a complete fill at lower RPM's. If it is dynoed I bet you will find that torque is way down until the car is up around 3500 RPM or more.

The B303 cam is probably working against the 3.31 gear instead of with it. The cam wants to rev higher, but the gear is so tall that the car can't get into the power range soon enough to make up for the loss of low end torque caused by the larger intake, exhaust and cam. Now, a set of aftermarked heads or ported stock ones with a 3.73 or 4.10 gear and the story will be much different.

But this is just IMHO.

2 different people glen:nice: 1bad89coupe was the one that changed the headers(back to stock), intake and cam. flash1966 is the one that changed the headers and the xpipe yesterday. :nice:

sonic blue snake..

So I'm going up to KFC to get some lunch. going south on Wickham just after the Parkway light, and what do I see pass me? That's right. A Sonic Blue '03 Cobra. That car was beautiful!
I did a 180 while both hands were still on the wheel so I could watch it go by. VERY nice ride. :worship:
Made my day.:p

I didn't piss off anyone. I actually volunteered for this one :). It is pretty nice up here, but I just wasn't prepared for the jump from low 60* weather to the negative side of the thermometer. I just got back from hiking (cold or not, I'm not passing up the opportunity to hike a few miles in the Alaskan winter :nice: ) and it was around 3*or 4*. Definately cold, but I'm acclimating pretty quick. It's not at all uncomfortable.

And it's funny that you should mention Siberia. It won't be next week though. Probably October of next year or so. And no, I'm not kidding.

:worship: Wierd places I can say I've been. :jester:

here are a few pics of al's car from the dyno challenge at lugo's today:worship: oh yeah, i was told he got 436rwhp :worship: :worship:

SWEET! But I'd suggest the '06 Cobra fund. Cosidering that not only is it a totally new body and everything hasn't been totally worked out from Ford, then add in all we remember about what a bang up job SVT did in '99, I'd say wait a year. But I'm sure it feels good either way. :nice:
