Actually, if the rule changes went through, I'm thinking about STX. If not, I'll be in Street Mod.

There's no "if" about it... the rules are set to allow Mustangs in STX b/c they have under the max of 5.0 liters of displacement with a max tire width of 245 and a minimum treadwear of 140

STX should turn out to be a fairly fun class at the local level but I suspect that it'll be brutally competitive at the national level within the next few years... imagine fully prepped WRX's and Teg Type R's running on shaved street tires

Sorry I missed you last weekend Christian. Thanks for the update on the rules. David had mentioned it, but he wasn't positive on it. So if what I've heard is correct, this is pretty much a run what you brung (with the tire and displacement limits) class with open suspension? Coilover swaps approved? SFC's approved?

On Edit:
Nevermind. I found a rundown of the rules and I'll still be illegal. Looks like it's Street Mod for me.

Great looking pictures Christina!!!! I grabbed a couple for use as wallpaper. I hope that's ok

Dan, can you see over that hood? I like it , but it looks like it blocks quite a bit of forward vision. maybe it's just the angle of the photo.

Sure is!!! I parked closer to the building today in downtown Tampa...I normally park in the Ice Palace parking garage and walk a few blocks but not this morning!!...just so happened to pick a spot to park that gave plenty of room around the pony for the admirers

No kidding. The thermometer on my porch is reading a little above 30 and it's supposed to drop into the low 20's this weekend. I thought I left Alaska last month.

Speaking of Alaska, I finally got some pics resized.

Here's one of my hero shots at one of our sites. We had to park the truck about 3 miles down the road and ride in. It was fairly warm at around -10*.

Facing up the road to Pedro Dome, a site that receives data from a few of our ground sites and transmits it back to the detachment, and ultimately us down here.

Another at Pedro. That fence to the left of the truck is chainlink but frozen into a wall of ice. There's a thermometer on it frozen at it's stop. It reads to -60* but if it was graduated out, the needle would be around -80*. No telling how cold it actually was when it decided to die.

At least up there I had an excuse to be bundled up in arctic gear. This is Florida for cripes sake!

Looking back over the valley from Pedro. The entire Fairbanks area is in a valley where cold air settles. It's not uncommon to have extreme neg temps in town (-30 or so) and be +15 or so up in the mountains.

This is the road into the remote operating facility (ROF) of the largest instrument array we have in Alaska. It's actually the largest in Alaska, period. Normally at that time of the year, there'd be 3-4' of snow on the ground and we'd be riding snowmachines into the area. Lots of elk and moose will come out of the forest and use the roads as they're easier to travel on. Coming around a corner doing 65 into a herd of moose can be an experience from what I'm told.
