Not bad, not bad at all. I still won't do any business with J&M, directly or indirectly, but it is nice to know that they're taking care of their customers (or at least their dealers are).

Won't be at the 'cross tomorrow. Out of money and I've had a tiring week, so I'll be missing this one. Oh well. Not like I would've won anyway.

What would y'all think of this:

I'm kicking the idea around of mounting a tach on the ceiling, by the rear view mirror. Or if not a tach, then maybe like a shift light. It would be nice to have something more eye-level with me so I don't have to look down to see when I'm gonna hit red line.

Good idea Eric!

When I had a shift light for the Cobra I would mount it on the windshield. I used one of those cheap Radio Shack window mount radar detectors holder to do it. I ran a pigtail up through the console and shift boot area to plug it into a tach signal for racing. I used a regular 12V cigarette plug-in for the power supply and plugged it into the console accessory plug. When I wasn't racing I would unplug it and stow it away in the console.

You should just get the light, chief. If your factory tach is fine and still reads correctly, just get the light and stick it somewhere easy for you to see. By the rear-view is a good idea, or maybe in one of the a/c vents so no one but you knows it's there.

Just got back from the auto-x at BCC. Weather was great today and the course was fun and fast for a Mustang. Tim (the timing guy) shamed me into signing up for ESP instead of Novice Race and I am glad I did. The new Kumhos gripped like mad and I was able to really work my times down today. I wasn't quite able to match TJ's time but I did OK and ended up with a 2nd place. With a little more seat time and tweaking of my car setup I may be competitive in ESP, at least locally anyway.

Can hardly wait for the next event!!

See Dan, I told you I thought you had a 37.x in it today! I bet you it felt smooth and controlled and not very fast when you did it too. Good going!!

Once you start getting consistant times and feel that the tires are holding you back you might want to step up to some stickies. I would have waited longer to get these tires, but my old ones were getting so bald I was afraid to drive to work in the rain!!

Bad news for me. One of those stickers ripped a 3"x4" section of clearcoat off the passenger side door. Got a friend who's turning a calypso green Mustang into a race car, so I'm going to trade doors with him if the paint matches fairly well. What a bitch though.

This car is starting to piss me off. Things are starting to break rapidly.

Whats up guys?

Dan, Erich and the rest of you guys over there....

Just trying to keep in touch. I only have dial up down here so I'm very seldom on line now. and to think StangNet was slow with my DSL connection in Orlando....geezz I think snail mail might be faster now.

Any way just wanted to see whats going on. I'm coming up for the FFW and going to get a room for the weekend if I can find one. Hope to see you guys out there.

Dan, hows the Stang running? Heres my new cell # in case I didn't give it to you yet. (239) 464-0469.

I'll see you guys next weekend.

Andrew

Some new track times for my car from Bithlo. I was out there Friday night and apparently everyone else thought it would rain because I got in 3 runs between 6:45 and 7:15. My runs were close enough together on the third run my brakes were crackling! It started drizzling and I figured it would get worse so I left, my exhaust leak came back too. Sounds like its in a different place though, so guess its back to the shop tomorrow.

Anyway, for the good news, I ran 14.51 @ 94.1 with a 2.1 60'. I've got to figure out my shifting though because if I shift at 5500 I either cross the line at about 6000 or have to shift to 4th right before the finish. My best time was leaving it in 3rd, shifting to 4th picked me up almost 2mph though, 95.8. Guess I'll just have to put a blower on to compensate!

I'll probably take the 99 out wednsday to get some times on it, it'll be considerably easier to drive than my car though!

First time at bithlo

I ran my Cobra for the first time on Valentine's day at Bithlo. 13.69@102.78 not bad for only putting 60 miles on the car since I've owned it.

my fault looked at the other time next to me, but still I'm in the 13's dan with bald nittos. Let's see what it does with a new clutch, new BFG's, and a bad a$$ driver behind the wheel can do.

Well guys, good news!

Ordered the parts from Hanlon today to get my tranny all back together! Should be here in like 3/5 days, so the stang will be running within a week!

Dan, you guys still meet at Hooters every now n then? If so, I wouldn't mind making the haul to have some wings and put some miles on the tranny. Oh, and can't forget the hooters girls...they're always a plus. :worship: Hows your car coming along? From what I've read, sounds like you had (or are having) some gears put in? Sounds like it's really coming along!
