Eric, I may be interested in the front spindles from that Fox. I chopped mine up to install better brakes and would like to have a pair of stockers in case I ever want to restore my coupe. BTW are the rotors in decent condition? I sold mine already so I might want to scrounge up a pair of those as well.

Eric... I NEED stock mufflers... I can't hear myself think inside my car now and I think I'm going to go crazy... If you can get them so I can bolt them up to the h-pipe and just put turn-downs on them that would awesome... Then when I feel like hot rodding I can put the flowcrappers on...

Engine swap questions..

Hey guys, can someone or perhaps a few of you shed some light here for me?

How difficult would it be to swap in a 5.0 into a 94-95 V6 car?
What kind of extra parts would be needed and how much money do you think it would take to accomplish this?

I forget if I've asked this before on here, but I had to ask again.
Thanks.

You'll need the following...

- 5.0 computer and wiring harness...
- 302 k-member... I would just get a tubular k-member...
- 302 motor mounts...
- 8.8" rear end... the 7.5" won't last...
- headers, h-pipe, mufflers

It would probably cost less to just by a GT instead, not to mention a whole lot less work. The V-6 suspension system would not be up to the task of supporting a V-8 so you would have to make changes there as well.

Yeah, it would take a lot of cash...even though it would be a cool sleeper.

So...can anyone recommend a good AOD transmission? I wanna put an automatic with overdrive back into my car and I've got about $2000 to spend, between the tranny, stall converter, and installation. I'm looking for an already-built, ready to go tranny...not a rebuild of my current...and I'd like it to be pretty race-ready, with a shift kit installed and a manual valve body and such. I'm in the money now!!! Just in time too...it's slipping into 2nd gear at anything more than 1/2 pedal now and Overdrive feels like it could blow at any time.

My advice when it comes to AODs, stay away from Performance Automatic. I bought their Super Comp AOD, it was suppose to be there bad boy taking up to 800hp. Well at that time my car only put out a little over 300rwhp. That tranny did not last more than two months before their harndned input shaft broke in half. I pulled that POS out of my car, sent it back to them and lost $700 in doing so because they would not give me a full refund. In closing go with a lentech. If you would be intested, I can set you up with hundreds off a PI 9.5 Stallion 3500 stall convertor. Dave over at JD's performance has my old one. He is waiting for a buyer so he can send it back to precision industries to be inspected, cleaned, and maybe the stall changed if the new owner chooses to.

Just one correction here. The V6 and V8 K-members are the same throughout the years. The only time you need to swap K-members in a mustang for a motor swap is if it had the I6. They are the only different K's out there.

I'd still recommend going with the tubular route though...

Don't forget the cooling system will have to be upgraded to deal with the extra power.

I'd be interested in that stall converter, but my car isn't manly enough to run a 3500 right now man....plus I can't imagine that being very streetable. I'm looking at between a 2500 and a 3000 stall, but I'm thinking a compromise of like 2800. But thanks for the tip on that company..I'll stay away from them. Does Lentech have a website? I've heard their manual valvebody is bitchin...

Eric Kebbel: I still want the driver's side armrest. Could you bring it to the autocross this Saturday or Sunday? Check your PMs.

Has anyone ever removed the metal tube that connects the heads to the air pump and plugged the holes in the heads? My check valve broke off (probably from rust). It's probably easier to replace that, but I'm just checking all my options. Is it difficult to get at the holes? I read that they're all full of carbon, too.

Update: the check valve is $28. Anyone familiar enough with this valve know if parts stores carry a replacement that works for Mustangs?

DG, there's a triple white snake sitting for sale a little ways outside my neighborhood. I know your mom would never spring for it, but I'll pull some numbers off it for ya anyway.

I just said white snake, lol.

Friend of mine's girlfriend's neighbor is selling a 97 SVT Cobra, authentic (got the certificate w/ car number and all in the trunk), all-original (he has a Flowmaster badge on it but his exhaust sounds stock)..low mileage (like 30,000), beautiful paint, immaculate engine and interior..the guy cleans the car on a daily basis. He's asking like $17,000 though....eep.

Lentech's website is www.lentechautomatics.com
The thing with the convertor was that mine was still a lockup just like the stock one so it still did not turn too high of rpms, only about a couple hundred more rpm cruising down the highway. Although from a dead stop the car did not start to really move until the rpms got over 1000, my only way to explain that is to compare it with a manual tranny car when letting the clutch slowly out. Its pretty strange to get use to but the added performance was well worth it, it was like night and day compared to the stock convertor. A 3500 is a pretty big stall, but you could get my convertor set to whatever stall you want for free since Dave at JDs has connections at Precision Industries. I don't want to come off like a salesman, but I have no more cars with automatics, if you don't buy it thats cool, I just thought that maybe somebody out there could put it to good use again instead of wasting away in a box.
