Melbourne area stangs

I think I'll be able to make it out there. I won't be running, though. As always. Waiting for SVO.

yep, ill be at the track tomorrow night...as long as it doesnt ****ing rain, AGAIN. 
after last night deciding it was too late to goto the track anyway...than it started raining like hell...i decided to go pick up some girls and go to a movie. well, got 2 of the girls (who live close by me) and started heading down 427, all this while its raining cats and dogs, and small cattle.
driving slower than hell cause of the weather, i went down dog track, and took a right onto 17-92 going towards 436. as soon as i turned out onto 17-92 i shifted to 3rd going like 30 mph. went to change lanes and the ass end slipped out, and i did 2 full 360's right in front of a bigass truck
ended up with my back tires sitting in the median thing over the curb. and if all this wasnt enough...i had to sit there for like 5 mins tryin to get the car to start up (i guess it doesnt like spinning), finally got it started and back onto the road.
since i was running on like..below empty i figured id try and make it to a friends house to see if i could borrow some money till i got to my dads. so going down 436...went to get into the turning lane and, whooptie freakin dee it slides out aqain. this time i was paying attention and only went around once, and managed to steer it back facing the right way. funny thing was i ended up in the turning lane i was trying to get into..heheeh.
all this and not to mention the 2 girls having heart attacks, and cars everywhere. 
moral of the story: dont drive a stang in the rain unless you absolutely have to. im glad the other drivers around me were paying attention...cause there wasnt much i could do besides steer out of it as fast as i could. came within like 8 feet of that trucks front bumper luckily, the stang..and all passengers were perfectly fine (minus the girls heart attacks).....be careful guys

Damn dude, glad you didn't get hurt. My dad had a similar incident about 6 months after owning his coupe he has now. He was going down Alafaya in the middle lane and it was pooring then all of a sudden he did a 360 and was facing the right way when it stopping spinning.
Moral: Power, rear wheel drive, mustangs suck in the rain. LOL

I always try to take the Camry out if it's raining. Slow, FWD, oh yeah. Glad it wasn't any worse. You could have gotten seriously hurt if other people hadn't been paying attention.

yes it was very close...and im glad i didnt hit anybody...last thing i need is another reason for my insurance company to drop me. came pretty close both times, but...luckily nothing happened.
and yes from now on, im drivin my moms 4wd explorer when it rains...no more stang

HAHAHAHAHA.......only if you knew how much money I have donated to that race track. That **** gets expensive! I'll show up tomorrow night and that'll be it for a few weeks.

Yeah, I just remembered about that. Here you kept trying to get us out there, and then we finally go, yet you're not there. What's that about?

true, but the next friday, that i get to go out, you best plan on going, ill try and give you enough notice too, so its not a last minute thing! but maybe you should just plan on being in melbourne on the 22nd(saturday) at the hotters by melbourne high school, around 530 or so! then you can meet everyone, and the Modern Mustangs guys will be there too! but at least you tried to make it!Originally posted by 1Bad89Coupe

I'll be there the 22nd. we just got our schedules for next week, and they gave me the day off.
(at least i wont have the only chevy there :laugh: )

ditto on my part!! damn rain...every time i try to goto the track...it rains....gotta be a curse or somethin
it was so beautiful at the track tonight. And oh the sounds of the idle v8 engines, not to mention all the mustangs and chevys (and pontiacs) So many 10 and 9 sec cars. 
Not to mention the chic in the 9 sec BMW, she kicked @ss Although i didn't run, i still have fun appreciating other really nice cars that go really fast.

hm......I can't remember exactly how to get to the hooters down there. I was there once (met baglock, erich, and erich's friend) but I followed a friend.
