Whenever I turn the wheel it whines like a mofo, and scary enough, at around 5,000 rpm, I lose the power steering completely...I think its time for a new one. Thoughts?
That doesnt sound too good. The fluid level is okay?
Losing PS assist could be the belt slipping but it'd be hard to know if the pump is causing the belt to slip or if it's for another reason.
Big whining is normal on fox pumps but not on 94+ pumps it seems to me. I agree and might swap it out. Be sure to give it a super flush in case any metal let go.
