what shifter shuld i get for the t-45 and where to get it cheapest?

and what makes MGW the best? MGW is a newly popular one, but the steeda is tried and true with no complaints. i dont think its possible to say one is better then the other. I have the steeda and love it. would like to try the MGW to see why there are so many threads on it.... but dont have the slightest care to switch. i think you will be fine with either.

since this is a shifter post , you guys with the Shifters installed did you use the hard stop adjusters or just back them out and lock em down?

i have heard that there is no need in adjusting them that the tranny is already set for it, but don't these adjustable stops help from bending forks and such? i can see if ya have to much adjustment and its not getting in gear all the way, but a good adjustment with them is ideal isn't it?

btw I choose Steeda and its otw

Depends on the tranny. The TR-3650 has built in internal stops, but the T5's and T45's don't. If your GT is newer than a 01 than you dont have to worry bout setting the stops but might wanna do it anyways as a precaution. Hope that helps

I've got the Steeda shifter and I love it, but I don't know how the MGW compares to it. I would say Steeda, but that's only because I haven't tried to the MGW yet. But, i'm sure either one would be good

My experience was I was gonna get a Steeda Tri-Ax but Steeda tried to screw me over with a previous order I had made with them, so I said screw them, and had heard good stuff about the MGW. So I got the MGW Blue Handle. Could'nt believe the shortness of the shifts, and quiet. No rattling what so ever and no weird noises. I tested a friends Tri-Ax on his 'Stang about a week after I got my MGW. His Tri-Ax felt like a stock shifter. Long throws, and felt sloppy compared to the tight feeling and short throwing MGW. I don't know about UPR, but that's my experience on my Steeda-MGW comparison test I did. Excuse me while I put on my flame-proof suit.

I have a steeda, and if I could do it over again, I'd try out the MGW. Steeda is a bit notchy, which doesnt bother me much.. but the MGW allows you to angle the shifter close to you. Ford messed up with their shifter placement on our cars.

Yes the MGW has stops. And I would say the MGW over the others. I have driven cars with the others and I like my MGW over all of them.

if you dont want to fork the pennies for the MGW get the UPR its exactly the same as the Tri-Ax and a few others on the market just cheaper.

The blue handled (sportsman) MGW shifter is supposedly the shortest shifts on the market. While the red handle (cruiser) is more comfortable and easier to shift, yet almost as quick as the blue.

MGW does not make as much noise as the steeda shfiter supposedly does (i've never had one...) as well as has no "break in" period. The Steeda shifter supposedly is hard to shift for a while until it breaks in, the MGW isn't. MGWs also comes with everything needed to install it and gives great instructions.

I would recommend MGW but the choice is yours. But the Steeda is "tried and true" and it was the shifter I was going to go with 1st as well. But I just said "F it!" one day and just bought the MGW. I'm QUITE content with my purchase.

I did the same. I was on my way to get a Steeda right when the MGW was released for our cars. Everyone with Pro5s and Tris were jumping ship for the MGW and I followed and haven't looked back
