As u can see in my signature I have a traction problem at the track. I cant launch at more than 1500rpm without lighting up the tires. I have 2 extra 94-95 cobra rims and I was gonna get 2 ET street radials in the 275 40r17 size and was wondering if this is gonna drop my 60 foot and help me out or not? If anyone is running these I would like to know. Also where is the cheapest place to get um? Thanks!

I have driven a bud's car at the track with those things, i lauched at 3500 and the car hooked so good that it bogged, upped the launch, and finally got it to leave, but the problem wasn't the tires.....lol

when they get hot, you can seemingly push your finger into the tire, plus the tread pattern looks bad a$$.......

sounds like they hook, I know my rearend should be fine but I hope the tranny and clutch will hold any 60 foot times I could expect... I'm pullin like a 2.0 2.1 on street tires with 18psi

the car i was talking about is a 90 gt, with a 306, trick flow intake etc, small cam put down around 265........ We were cutting 1.8's all day, and i actually broke into the 1.7's once, was a real blast and the main reason i have been trying to get my suspension set-up, and my rear end upgraded, so i can launch mine.....................

They are awesome tires, so good they got banned from drag radial classes because they hooked TOO good. I plan on getting them for my stock 16's, should be good for CONSISTENT 1.7's, unlike the Nitto's or BFG's which can do 1.8's, but are not very consistent.

A good driver can easily pull 1.6 and 1.7 60 ft's on BFG's all day long. Same can be said for nitto's.

The mickeys are great tires from what ive heard, as long as your not gonna daily drive em, get them!

I ran against a turbo Camaro with the M/T Street Drag Radials last Friday...he runs mid 10's and pulls 1.4 60 ft. times consistently. Does that answer your question?

Drag radials are definately the ticket. However I didn't see any upper or lower control arms in your sig, they help a lot too.

the real reason they are banned or whatever is because of the sizing, right? I read somewhere what it was, but can't remember exactly........

I ran consistent 1.70-1.72 60's on 245-50-16 nitto DR's WITH the stock suspension, and pulled a best of 1.67 60' on 315-35-17 nitto's with GW LCA's and stock everything else.

I DO however believe with Paul, and Yellow95cobra, i have never had a problem with my nittos hooking, part of the reason i am replacing parts i the rear now........lol

I pulled consistent 1.69-1.72 60ft times on some 275/40r17 Nitto drag radials when I was running low 11s @ 123-4.
