Might be getting a 390...

Jiminy Crickets! I hope they sonic test the block before building that! For the record - a 390 standard bore is 4.05 + a 428 3.998 stroke crank is 410 cid. That block has to be bored to max - 60 or 80 over. (a 428 was a 4.13 standard bore) - Either that or they sleeve the block - but it's not listed in the discription. Remember - a 406 is basically a massively bored 390 - so much so that it was a different casting to accomodate the bore - a standard 390 could not go that far.

Anyway my admittedly biased view is go for the big block - you'll have more torque by 2000 rpm than any 289 will at streetable rpms. Makes it a heck of a lot of fun to drive.
