I just purchased a bone stock 1997 gt with 53000 miles. So far, I put a k&n filter in it and Mac 2.5" cat backs. I want to get a mac pro-chamber h-pipe, but the whole "check engine" light situation is freaking me out. Maybe I'm thinking too much. If I install the MIL eliminators when I install the pro-chamber, will my check engine light come on if something else non-oxygen sensor related happens to my car. Say, anti-freeze in the tops of my spark plugs when my intake goes??? Or a bad control module??? Basically, do the MIL eliminators just take care of the exhaust codes or does it completely wipe out the computer for all codes??? Thanks for any help y'all can give me....

So the MIL eliminators only override the codes thrown by the O2 sensors?

This is the way i read on this myself. i have a 98 with a o-r-h myself and mil.

MIL(malfunction indicator light) you have two sets of o2 sensors and when you have cats the front and back read different) but when you run catless. it trips the computer to run richer than needed, hense the light. the mil trick the back two oxagen sensor into saying "theres nothing wrong here" you other codes from other stuff will still trip the check engine

Dont be surpised that if you check engine light comes on after several months. mine does this about twice a year and it goes back off in about a day.

And this problem is not just me. two more guys i know that have em does this as well.

im not sure why but when mine comes on it aways when we have a major weather change (like it being warm and a cold front moves in) wierd

Mil Eliminator Problems

I put a bassani O/R x-pipe on my 97 mustang gt and bought a couple mil eliminators off of ebay for like $10. I put them on, unhooked my battery and the light came off for a hundred miles at the most and then it came back on. The seller told me to clean the 02 sensors and if it still never worked, my sensors were hooped. I cleaned the sensors and nothing happened at all. I got sick of the light being on so I took my car to the mechanic and got it scanned and he told me that the catalytic converters werent working properly(I have none). So I was wondering if it was in fact the 02 sensors that werent working properly, would it have showed up on his scanner, and not the catalytic converters malfunctioning. I believe that the simulators aren't working right but the seller assures me it is the 02 sensors. I don't know what to do... Anyone have any ideas??
