i just got done installing a mini starter in my 91 and had everything hooked up . when i put the negitve ground cable on the battery the starter made a clicking sound. just one click. it didn't try to start the car.i just made a click. i was wondering if this was normal?
I dont recall mine clicking after I installed it, does the car start normal now? The only thing I can think of is you might have it wired wrong, but If it starts fine now and the starter works normally(ie stops engaging when the key is not in the start postition) then I wouldnt worry about it too much. I just spliced the start wire at the soleniod and ran it straight down to the starter, then I ran a 4 gauge wire from the soleniod bat terminal down to the starter, worked great on my car, and the new starter sound sweet as hell, and my car only turns over for like a half a second before the thing starts, def worth upgrading to the 93 starter.
