I came across this website today. Has anyone ever used or heard of this stuff?

http://www.5starshine.com/

The website seems cheesy....I am wondering if it really works as well as they say.

Overrated crap. Claybar your car, throw a few layers of Poorboys Natty's Blue paste wax on, and stare in amazement.

1) Wash your car /w no wax or anyting applied
2) clay bar the car
3) wax it w/ a carabue wax ( i use megulars--can't spell-- wax with space age poly bits or whatever in it).

This will give you a deep rich shine that will last, and it will be a LOT smoother than just waxing /w out the clay bar. It doesn't matter what wax you use as they all are pretty have carabue in them.

Yeah I really want to try the clay bar thing. I just haven't had the time. The fiance feels that planning the wedding is more important.

I heard of guys using a dishsoap like dawn to get the existing waxes off then using the clay bar. Is that a good idea??

The claybar should take off the wax. I wouldn't use dishsoap unless you really have to. If you wash the car using car wash soap and HOT water it'll help take off some of the wax too.

After claying, put on a non-wax polymer like Klasse All-in-One or Meguiar's NXT. Follow that with a coat of PURE carnuba. One that's JUST wax, no cleaners at all. I like P21S -- expensive, but one can will last for years.
The polymer gives you a mirror shine, and the carnuba will give you depth.

Thanks for the link Kilgore. I definitly feel it's a scam. I guess you just can't get around having to put in some work to get a great shine.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I really want to get a deep shine...my car is a DSG.

lol you mean a "Carnuba" wax? a carabou is a animal.........

for most people, a standard wash with dish soap, a few hours claybarring, and a layer or two of a carnuba will make for an awesome shine. i used zymol when i did that sort of job.

now im into PC'ing, using various pads, polish and poly seal, then real waxes.
