Can anyone please tell me why,the plugs are new and tan in color,there is no engine light either?I have no idea what it can be.

A buddy of mine with a cherokee had the same thing after going through a big puddle of water.. the water I guess caused a temporary short on one of his COP's, and it threw his light. He replaced all the plugs without first just clearing the code. It turns out, it was a one time thing, the cylinder missed once, so it threw/saved the code.

Try erasing the code and driving around some, then after a while check it again and see if it comes back.

I tried clearing the codes but it didnt work and I'm still having the problem,the thing is there is no light either,I had the car scanned because it is always missing,you can hear it when it is ideling and also when you are cruising you can hear it slightly and can feel the car stumble real quick,then go back to normal then do it again,it has a pattern to it kinda.

haha Fred your car sucks...just kidding man. I was wondering if you wanted to get a group of us together this weekend coming up since its supposed to be so nice. We can drive out there or we'll meet halfway or something. Just let me know what you think.

99 percent of the time it takes a lot more than 1 misfire too set off the code. sometimes it's damm near impossible too get it too set one. sometimes the coils go bad. i would see if it keeps setting this code. if it don't then chalk it up as a fluke. and if it does check your coil for number 8 and the plugs. if they don't say motorcraft on them, then that maybe your problem.

thats cool,we should this saturday morning,i'm taking sam to my exhaust guy to do his x-pipe,give me a call later,mikez28 its not something thats going away its always there,the plugs are ngk replacments.how would i test my coil packs?

sound advice. if they say Autolite, they are the same as motorcraft.
one thing you can try is swapping out the COP to another cylinder and see if the code moves.

Havent done that in awhile,I just tried switching the coilpacks,and changed the fuel filter again,also took the plugs out for a look,all of them looked normal except the one that was missing,all the plugs were black/tan,the one that was missing was brown,also it was cooler then the others.
