This problem started before the motor was rebuilt. After the rebuild it still does it.
Car is all stock, 02 sensors not hooked up

Symptoms:

rough idle
misfire on light accel
popping through intake on hard accel
wont restart after its warmed up, but it will stay running until its shut off

Motor was just rebuilt. Already swapped the following for known good

ECU
EEC relay
distributor and module
TPS
map
ect (on lower intake)
fuel regulator
coil
checked timing multiple times, 10'btdc
cap, rotor wires and plugs all new
checked injectors with noid light, getting a pulse
pulled plugs, carboned up bad
smells like fuel

Any ideas? Ill pull the codes tonight if there are any. Thanks in advance

I was going to say bad distributor pick up or TFI, but you already swapped those.

I know the ECT does. If it is malfunctioning it will show a code. You can also check the voltage at the sensor. I forget what it is supposed to be, but its in the surging idle checklist.

Without O2's, you're in FMEM and running rich. This could be why your plugs are coked.

When it won't restart hot, have you tried flooring the gas pedal while (and only while) cranking? This shuts the injectors off.
