I just put a extender in my car, about week ago) and the a/f is set around 11.75/12. Occassionally the car will miss at around 2k-3k rpm (just started about 3 days ago) when I get on the gas and also i have heard a popping sound 2 or 3 times when downshifting and slowing down. And last night my check engine light came on for about 10-15seconds while driving normally then went off on it's own.

I am thinking I just need to do a plug/wire change and a distributor cap change too while at it. Does this sound like what would occur if the plugs were starting to crap out? and the popping is unbured gas igniting when touching the headers? Not sure about the CEL though, any ideas?

11.75 is a little lean, isn't it? can you richen it up a little?

yea, i can richen it up a bit without a problem. I thought that the optimal A/F was around 12.5:1 or so though? and that 11.75 would be on the safe side to make sure there was no detonation or pinging

mine does the same this from 4800rpm to redline. Puts quite a stain one my 1/4 haveing to shift early. But i switched out my air temp sensor and that fixed it for a while but mine F***ed up again for some reason. Then again my car was running 20/1 a/f the first time so yours is quite better than mine. It's down to like 13/1 now.

Have you changed your plugs and wires? If not give that a try. Check out the firepower kit at www.performancedistributors.com

i don't know why, but i always get those backwards. yeah, 11.75 should be ok. have you cleaned the mass air meter lately? maybe the mass air meter is not reporting enough air to the computer so the computer is not providing enough fuel?
