Does anyone know of way to obtain the information on the top part of the data plate such as the body, color, trim, date, DSO, Axle, trans. I only have the VIN number to my 65 and would like to find out the other information and have a new data plate made up.

Thanks

well i have the same sorta problem. Someone made a crumby plate in replacement but the codes are way wrong. I guess to get the entire data plate you can just trace back to the original owner. The VIN will only tell you the model year, the production number, and the date it was made I think.

I really don't know how else you can get the original data without that data plate.

http://www.martiauto.com/

Is a good place to start but it will cost like $20 or something. I found a number on the net that you can call Ford Customer service and in 5 weeks I received a letter with a lot of the information I needed on nice Ford letterhead the rest I was lucky enough to be able to get form the buck plate under the hood.

There are no reports to be had on the 65 -66 cars.
Only thing you can do is be a detective about it and Make one up.
Somethings you may have to guess about. If your lucky maybe it has a buck tag on it with all of the info your looking for under the hood.

Thanks for the help guys. I've gotten in contact with the previous owner and it looks like he still has the data plate so I hope to get it from him and put it back on.
