Missing,MAF,or other!!?

I clenaed my MAF, hooked it back up and all of a sudden once you punch it pass 2k its bogs,but it idles good,and no cel....The bog sounds like harcore missing and feels like im running w/o 1-2 cylinders.So tonight i go to unplug the maf while its running and drive it while its disconnected.Being that its dark out, i see blue sparks ,and hear the spark click near the spark plugs,well actually its shooting out of a wire that might of been sitting on the header and caused a hole or etc.
My question is would that wire be that critical...I know it would.....But would a fowled up MAF cause the same feeling????

If you know the wire is bad start by fixing that.
Trying to troubleshoot around a known problem is a waste of time.

Have you pulled the codes?

To answer the question you posed...
I have had a wire ground out on my 4cyl, and I barely noticed the loss in power.
HOWEVER, it will depend on the situation.

All I can suggest is to fix the known issue and see what happens.

Why did you suspect the MAF?
