Does he know working out 4-5 times a week is unhealthy for your muscles, and will result in the muscles NOT growing. Unless hes running the treadmill 4-5 times a week and benching 2 times a week, hes full of shiet.
UM...six days a week for 15yrs=80 pounds...there may be some holes in your theory. It's really more about the food and the rest you get than anything else. :)

:stupid: If you work every single day you will hurt yourself...but if you do it right you will build muscle and not get hurt. If youu rest and eat the right foods you will be ok, for example BCAA (Something chained amino acids) are supposed to really speed up the recovery time from lifting, I have also heard that a lot of protein not only helps build muscle but helps with recovery time as well :nice: I usually lift 2 days then one off then 2 days then one off and so forth...

Ive put on 35 pounds in the last 2 years while my bodyfat % has remained constant. If you eat right, workout hard and make sure your protien intake is up, and most importantly GET ENOUGH SLEEP you could work out 7 days a week if you wanted.

Remember you dont grow in the gym, you grow when you sleep!

BCAA's = Branch Chain Amino Acids

Not true at all. I work out 5 days a week. Arms/Shoulders/Chest/Back/Legs, each main muscle group once per week.

Now if you are working the same body part out every day then what you said above holds true.

Sorry but thats not always true. Let me ask you, every week when you go back and train that part, do you add weight? CAN you add weight? Sure after a week that body part will recover, but lifting weights in any area of the body puts high demand on organs in your body such as, liver, kidneys, pancreas, etc. Now sure after a week your arms may be recovered and ready to lift, but after 5 days of putting stress on all your body organs, sat. and sunday will not be enough time to recover. And a fixed work out scheduale will ultimitely fail you becuase as you get stronger your muscles will need more time to recover. You may be in awesome shape, best shape of your life, but are you actually lifting more every week?

Eating, sleeping, taking in alot of protein and other supplements, and working out of course youll grow, but just my view, not to your potential. Like i said before, i was at a point where i was drinking two protein shakes a day, cycling creatine, eating 6 times a day, and going to the gym 3 times a week. I gained 9 pounds in a few weeks and looked better then ever. Seriously take a week off working out, go back to the gym next week and see how much you can lift. Ill bet you anything you are overtraining, and in those 2 years that you gained 35 pounds, id say the time you gained the most muscle was probably weeks when you didnt have time to go.

Im just saying if you go to the gym 5 days a week and do heavy lifiting, your going to lose fat, and gain muscle, no doubt with the right amount of sleep, and food intake, but im just saying body builders arent on that scheduale for a reason.

I dont do 5 days straight. I work out Monday/tuesday, WEDS is rest, then Thurs/Fri, SAT is rest, then sunday.

I dont upp the weights every week, because it takes more then a week to master the weight that your at, if its like you said id be shoulder pressing 200lb dumbells. Once you have been working out for a long time, the gains come slower, not like someone who has never worked out in their life.

Another thing how you put so much emphasis on ALWAYS INCREASING THE WEIGHT. that is a #1 amatuer mistake right there.

ITS NOT ABOUT THE WEIGHT, its all about your form. FORM in weightlifting is everything. If you are just trying to beat your MAX bench press, this is pointless. Drop the weight and concentrate more on your form and you will see wayy better results..

Also how you said your muscles take LONGER to recover if you get stronger? Being stronger has nothing to do with recovery time. FOOD and SLEEP however have everything to do with it.

Im sorry but you will not go up in weights by just having good form. The MOST imporatnt thing in gaining muscle is recovery. Food and sleep are a part of recovery. Good form is VERy important, but so is adding weight. You will not go up in weight if you do not add weight, and then let your body recover. Different work outs work differently for different people. I never meant to say if you put 300 pounds on a bar and lift it next week youll be at 305. Im just saying you wont gain muscle if you stay at the same weight, and you will always stay at the same weight if you do not let your body recover. Seriously do an expierement, take a week off working out, after today do not work out till the next monday, and see how much you can lift.

To answer your question. YES I ADD WEIGHT, do I do it every week? No I dont go, ohh its been 7 days my body must be ready for more weight.

I add more weight when I get to my 8th rep and I can still bust out more. I use weight that allows me to make it to 8 reps, no more. Plus I keep a log of my workouts so I know what exercise I did and how much weight/reps I did it for.

Also I do not use machines very much. Maybe 1 machine exercise per body part. I belive that free weights give you a better workout becuase you are using more muscles to control the weight.

BTW MOB, how old are you and how long have you been working out for? what are your stats? Any pic you can post to verify that you can walk the walk and not just talk the talk?

Form is over rated...goal in the place is to overwork by various methods to produce growth, confuse the muscle by beating it sensless for a few months straight with variation..endless reps one week, max weights the next, supersets, dropsets...always different, always the max you can do on that particular day. If it's twenty minutes or two hours...the best you can do on that day and try to see a cardio machine every time your in for as long as you can handle..again on that day. Get the gram or two of protien per lb of your weight, watch the carbs and keep the fat down till the weekends. Every couple weeks walk away from the weights and over to the cardio machines for the majority of your work. Rest and quality calories make the gym time work. Form is secondary in my book...safely is paramount, but it's genetics and diet that limit you..bust your ass and you'll see your genetic potential...puzzy foot around wether it be 3 days a week or 7 and I can garantee that after the first initial sprit everyone gets in the first month, you won't see much to motivate you unless again the genetic gods have smiled down on you and even the lazy nothin days will work wonders.

I agree, when I go to the gym, i lift the most my body can. Again I never tried to say next week I will add weight, and if i cant do it my friend will spot me. I only do 3 sets of 8 reps and try to add 5 pounds each set. If you went to the gym with the plan of adding weight just becuase you know next week you will lift more thats the stupidest thing ive ever heard and i promise you I never meant to say that. Al I wanted to say was, IF you can add weight, then you know your growing, if you cannot, then you are overtraining. I am 17 been working out on and off for 3 yrs, and I dont take pics of myself posing for other guys on stangnet :D

I never said I was the biggest man around, because trust me I am the laziest person, and its a pain in the ass for me to get up and go to the gym after working and going to school all day, and I dont know everything about it, but I know a thing or two about whats imporatnt to lifting weights, and when you are over training. Never said I have enough self motivation to follow them :)

These are the only pics I have of myself on my computer, dont get too excited with them :)

Form is overrated until you blow your lower back out doing deadlifts or herniate a disk in your back doing squats.

Form is not important if you like to be one of those dudes in the gym tryin to look cool doing benchpress as the bar gets all crooked and squirrly as you can barely bring it down halfway to your chest or the guy arching the **** ottta his back trying to do barbell curls.

Im not tryin to fight or start an arguement, to each his own. If what your doing works for you keep it up, I know what I am doing works better then great and I have it down to a science.

again as stated safety is paramount...I have an old, sweat stained shirt I wear every so often, it says "train hard or go home"...it's in the zone where your world revolves around pushing yourself harder than you thought you could...maybe than you think you should..but you do it, and the outside world and all it's problems cease to exist until you leave.IMO that's why I go. 99 percent of the time I have no idea what I'm even going to do untill I actually walk into the room...I just like to push myself, cause I know it's 5 am and 95 percent of the world doesn't even bother. I'm not sure what the original post was, and likely I have gotten carried away (as usual) but I just think if you walk in the door you might as well give 100 percent.

haha thats cool man, but lets just agree that, this kid working out 4-5 days a week isnt doing much for him, especially if he still weighs 115. :rlaugh:

Lofl i forgot about the original poster. That kid needs some help for sure. working out to him may be walking around the gym and staring at all the ass.. We should all chip in and mail the string bean some SUSTANON 250 and some DECA-DURABOLIN. lofl. Then he will see what being built/ripped is really like. LOL he might even grow some bitch tits in the proceess.. ahahaha

Hey guys..quick question for any of you that have used creatine... Did you notice results, and did it ahve any bad side effects? Ive been reading and they claim there are no bad side effects at all... Also which way or cycling did you use if any? Thanks!
