RsStanG1987 said:Hey lyncher i take creatine regularly been taking it for 3 months and i dropped weight when i first started taking it. I take pills like 2 hours before i lift and i take L glutamine 1 hr before lifting and i drink a protein shake for breakfast. After i lost the initial weight when i started taking the creatine i started gaining it back in muscle form.
Thanks for the responses
Lyncher said:Usually what I do now is 2 protein shakes a day before and after lifting and basically I eat a lot of stuff with a lot of protein on it and very little fat, like egg beaters, grilled chicken, beans..that sorta thing. Im NOT trying to just gain weight for football where I have to weigh X amount of lbs, I would just like to gain more muscle and get cut and lose the little fat I do have left. So it will help me do that correct? Also could I just mix it in with the protein shake and take it about an hour before I start lifting? Thanks! I also read that the first week you take it you should load 20-30grams a day then after that about 5grams a day and reload every 6 or so weeks. Any opinions on thatThanks for the responses
And thanks Mob for your input as well
I also heard that powder>pills because the coating takes a while to dissolve![]()
smokin91' said:You only have to load if you are using creatine MONOHYDRATE, which is pretty much the first creatine invented. Get your some CEE (Creatine Ethyl Ester) It doesnt have to be loaded, you dont need to ingest huge amounts per day and It wont cause the water retention like creatine monhydrate will.
Get youself some NO-Xplode and CELLMASS, they are made by BSN and contain the most advanced creatine on the market (CEM3) Creatine Ethyl Ester Malate.
Oh and stay away from anything by MUSCLETECH. They spend more money on their advertising then they do on their research.
from the reading I did It says Creatine Monohydrate Is the best type to take...but I dont know much about this stuff except what I read. What types of creatine do the rest of you guys take? I use creatine Monohydrate and never needed anything else. If your just trying to lose some of your body fat, and gain more muscle, imo the best thing to do would be, do ALOT of cardio for a few weeks, lose weight, lift weights but not to your make. Once you get your body fat where you want it, then start taking the creatine, and working out hard. If your like me an impatient, I would just start taking the creatine eat alot, work out hard, and still hit the treadmill alot. Either way with the creatine you will notice ALOT more energy, my heart rate started to go up and I started to sweat before I even left for the gym. One of the real reasons I stoped though was beacuse, I dont know if it was the protein shakes or the creatine but it started messing with my stomach, and gave me horrible headaches, ill tell you now though creatine out of no where made me take the biggest ****s! in the middle of school when I literally had to run out of the class and say f you to my teachers.
So my advice would be take it in a controled enviroment when you can see what your side effects are first, before you **** your pants lol. And about all those other supplements, yea im sure they work, but your 17, your in highschool, dont make it complicated, you dont need to spend 100's of dollars on supplements to see what works best. Keep it simple, eat, creatine, protein, work out hard, and SLEEP

One big mistake with creatine though is people thinking, they can lift more weight, or they can do alot more sets and reps, trust me if you do that you will overtrain, you may be able to lift alittle more weight, but if you over do it you will be out of the gym for a few weeks.

But about what smoking is saying, i read this a long time ago, dont remember where or exactly what, but most of the creatine you take in will get lost before it actually does something, so if your serious about it the forms with the better absortion rate will be best, BUT it will also be expensive, more then I ever would have imagined paying for supplements, and the powder worked for me, and works for alot of people.
smokin91' said:EXACTLY MY POINT WHY NOT TO TAKE MONO. You just said it yourself.
You had to stop taking it becuase of stomach upset (yea 20 grams of creatine MONO) will do that. As well as making you have the liquid ****s.
MONOHYDRATE does work for some people, but it has its ill effects to (as it has to be taken in alot higher doese then CEE), as MOB has experienced above. Get CEE, no bloat no stomach aches, NO LOADING and NO ****TIN YOUR PANTS!
MOB if you have had good results with the MONO, go pick up some CEE and I guarantee you instead of great results they will be phenominal. Science/technology has advanced creatine alot from its early days of Creatine Mono.
mob said:haha yea, I got real busy with work and school so I dont have time to go to the gym, but when I start working out again, I'll look into that stuff.

smokin91' said:As well, what are you guys taking after your workout? you should be ingesting Carbs/Protien 2:1 ratio in a drink IMMEDIATLY after working out. THIS IS PARAMOUNT!
Have a protien shake and mix in like 50 grams of dextrose. This will give your muscles immediate fuel and replenish your depleted glycogen stores until you get home to eat some real food.
Lyncher said:I just looked into it...its abou 50$ for one of the big bottles...thats not that bad...and thats for the Cellmass which looks like its good stuff![]()
The only thing is now im gonna have to take 2 protein shakes AND one of these creatine berry flavored things? How bad are they lol![]()
