MM's 4 Bolt Caster/Camber Plates Rock

mm_s.JPG

Not the best picture in the world so I guess staff photographer for Motor Trend is not going to happen.

I was not expecting anything along the lines of improved steering so it comes as a bonus. Perhaps it's the bearings that improve the steering and ride?

Nice pic. How was the install though. I'd appreciate as much info as possible, I'm ordering CC plates any day now...

i took one look at the instructions and the bag of assorted spacers then decided to bring my car to a pro shop to have it done.

fyi - i was quoted about an hour and a half labor for the install. well, it took 3 hours though i was only charged for 1.5 hrs.. these guys do mustangs all day every day and even they had to pool their knowledge resources and extra hands to do this install. at my skill level i'd do a shifter swap, tune ups, water pump, alternator swap, exhaust and maybe a heater core if i have time. this job requires drilling and selecting the right parts so it's not a direct swap.

i thought this job was beyond my skill level and it looks like i was right.

btw - i was just tooling around in my "new" toy. maximum motorsports autocross and road race experience really shows up in these c/c plates as they do much more than just allow greater adjustment. i can tell ya the car is more fun to drive now with just a quick whip of the steering wheel and the car seems to turn on a dime and so smooth. i like my suspension better than the 03 cobra and mach 1 both of which i have had the pleasure of driving. (i do have several other suspension mods - of course)

For the spacers, what you need to do is get a straight edge (ruler) accross the fender(s),then measure down to the top of the strut shaft.Once you got the plates on,you take the measurement you have, then add the spacer to the strut shaft to make it 1.5" more then the measurement you recorded.
M&M example stated in the instruction sheet(s) says if your car is lowered 1.5",add spacer to be 1.5" higher then your record measurement
This is so you don't lose your strut travel!Hope this helps. :)

That's what I confused on.. Say the stock measurment from the fender to top of the strut shaft is 3". Then you lower the car 1". So now when you install the mm c/c plate, you want to put the spacers to make the measurement from the fender to the top of strut shaft to be 4" instead of 3"?

What would happen if the hood doesn't fit? You have to add more spacers, thus, making you lose that 4" length and that would result in... ?
