Mods to beat Nissan 350z stock?

I just bought my tuner and 4.10 gears combo today and Im excited to get!

so in about a week my mods for my mustang V6 2006:
-pypes singleback exahust
-K&N FIPK CAI
-4.10 gears
-91 bama race tune

My brother always talks **** that he can spank my car in a quarter mile. He owns a stock 350z. I think its 305 hp

My question to you all is

Which mods do you think i need to beat him ?

A super charger would be the best.

Really, 350z's and 370z's are more in the GT league. Where our V6 Mustangs might run 15.3ish 1/4, a 350z will probably do a 14.2 or even faster.

I'm not sure how much faster a 4.10 would get you down the track, but you'd probably be right behind him if you both were the same driving skills with those mods. Just my guess really.

get a supercharger.

It may be close for an 1/8 mile, but after that he's going to pull on you.

x2. Or trade in on a Mustang GT.

Unless you have thousands to flush on a supercharger this is your best route given the mods you already have. I think the only other thing you are missing is maybe pullies, which only net another 5-10hp.

Heck, if you are right side up on your trade in, the money for a supercharger could get you a nice 06-07 GT. Just saying

Both cars weigh ~ 3300 lbs. stock so you need to make up for the 85 horsepower advantage he has.

In addition to what you're already doing:
-long tube headers
-off road mid pipe or high flow cats
-pulleys
-throttle body
-aluminum driveshaft
-rear seat delete
-remove spare tire
-light weight wheels (with drag radials & skinnies)
-remove anything else you can think of for weight reduction (stereo, carpet, insulation, etc.)


That should get you close enough in power to weight for it to be a driver's race with you having the advantage from the launch and him having the power advantage on top.

To convincingly beat him though you'll either need engine work or a power adder (supercharger, turbo, nitrous).
