What year car is this? Is it an 84 or 85? Is it (or was it) a manual tranny car?

The first pic is your barometric sensor. It is part of the circuit that adjusts the fuel mixture when the car is driven at higher altitudes.

Depending on the year of your car, the second pic may be part of the "upshift light" circuit.

Being an '84 with a stick, I believe my previous post to be correct.

This one is a barometric pressure sensor that seems to be communicating with the ignition system.

I called my local dealership parts counter and Ford says that this is a "Distributor Modulator Valve Switch". I checked the vacuum/electrical schematics and I can't find it shown anywhere. The "shift indicator light" on the electrical schematics shows as getting its signal from the tachometer.

Anyway, my goal is to get rid of as many of these underhood smog/vacuum/etc. switches and clean up the wiring harness. I am installing a Holley Sniper 2 system with a Hyperspark distributor, coil and ignition module. The only vacuum connections that I want to keep are the brake booster, A/C, and cruise control (which I don't know if it works or not)
