2 weeks into having my car, and all i do is dump more cash into it....i should have listened to my #1 rule...never buy a car that has any modifications, including radio work.

I've posted a few posts, so some of you might know some of my issues...and the saga goes on...

Current regret...should have kept my Volkswagen R32

Day after i bought the car, major knocking noises...first thought it was dealer putting in 87 octane, but later found out the car never was tuned after supercharger was installed.

2 days after buying my car, serpentine belt shreaded because of a ****ty pulley on the procharger supercharger.

Had a tune shop replace the faulty belt and pulley, then tune the car. Well found out that they had to do a very lean tune due to having a factory fuel pump...car was tuned to 335 whp and 352 tq..also i dont know if it was a factory fuel pump, sides of the pump bucket were drilled out, so obviously work has been done there

Fuel pump was replaced with a SVT focus pump, and the tune was richened up a bit...but wasn't put back on the dyno

Yesterday, i got on the gas hard and the "SES" light flashed on. I called the shop and they figured it was something simple like an O2 sensor...but nope....turns out to be a "Fuel Rail Regulator Fault" according to AutoZone...popped the hood, and looks to be a stock regulator.

Anybody have the part number of the stock regulator? Also if anyone has the part number of the stock injector, that will be helpful. Tune shop told me all i needed to do was upgrade the stock pump...now i'm finding numerous problems.

Oh and when it was on the lift to get the old pump swapped...dumb@$$ old owner just welded in some new mufllers.

So long story short, DO NOT BUY A USED CAR THAT HAS BEEN MODDIFIED

And yes, tomorrow i'm gonna have a "nice" talk with the dealership that sold me the car....anybody know the law in Va for used cars regarding reliablity of sale (warranty) ? I've heard 30 days, but not sure.

You had an R32 and you got rid of it...WHY!?!?!

Bitch at the dealer, but they probably won't help you since you already have had other shops look at it. Should have just returned the car right when you had a problem and demanded your money back.

I know what you mean man, that's why I bought my 96 GT; Bone stock with only 55k miles. If I were you, I'd go to the Better Business Bureau and find out with laws. Surely, something can be done about it.

shouldve went with rule #1 and walked away.

theres a reason someone traded in a moderately modified vehicle.

you either have 2 options.

1) fix these problems and get out from under it while you still can. sell it to some other poor sap for 2k more than what you bought it for. detail it all nice and youd be suprised what kind of people will run to the bank and pay 5k over book for a modded car.

2) fix these problems and any more problems that arise and revel in the fact your saving this fine piece of machinery from someone elses ****ups. then go do some burnouts, and realize why rwd is way funner than anything else, especially with 400ft/lbs of torque on hand, compared to some 300hp awd(R32 are awd arent they? been a while since i was into the 4banger piles of dooky) weedwhacker.

Well dman, upgrade the injectors, pumpa dnr egulator and enjoy the new found power. Its not crappily done, its just the fuel system was apparently not upgraded with the supercharger, so just do it and make it run well. No point in selling a blown GT unless it really has numerous problems. The issues you're having aren't problems, more of necessary upgrades that were never made. Good luck to you bud

I mean you bought someones project that were not done( or not done right).

I would never buy someone's project(thats a big red flag IMO). i donno if you bought the car from dealer or private seller(you should never everEVER buy a tuned car from dealer. thats a big NO NO. unless they are willing to stand behind what they sell no matter what it is, and which hey aren't for the most part), but if its private seller, you should have asked for reciept for all that was done(and he should be able to show you reciept for something big like super charger install. if not, that should be your second red flag).
And again,if he could not provide any info about tune(at least where he fot tune from). you should have walked away, unless your understanding that your buying someone's project without all info.
but so far, everything you listed as broken isn't all that uncommon for supercharged car. Nor that expensive to replace, specially if you can do install yourself(and you should be able to do basic mechanical repair if your buying tuned car IMO), if you can't do the repair yourslef, you should really asked yourself
"will i be able to afford repair bills if anything goes on this car that is NOT astock car?"

Likeyou said, you should really never buy someone's project, unless your willing to take risk. or buying someone's project that are well documented from people you know. So your regret should be not think and determin what your buying befor you signed it. not selling VW
I don't mean to be rude to you here dude496. but really, its not really that big of an issue your having having with your ca man

and ya.. i think they are pretty fugry. But they have one of the sweetest sounding V-6 imo. I love VR6...

If all that is wrong is a fule regulator and some injectors, by all means replace them, get a good tune and enjoy busting some import ass. :SNSign:

I agree. Seems like someone just ran out of money or didn't know what there doing when they got the blower and then just got rid of the car because of the problems. seems like you just need to upgrade a few parts that should of been upgraded. Good luck whatever you do

you shouldve signed a paper saying your buy the car as is but its in good working order before being resold. And you shouldve signed a lemon law paper. Take it back to the dealer asap saying they sold you a lemon. IF they dont take it tell them you will speak to a lawyer. And do speak to a lawyer if they still refuse to negotiate. If you have a friend thats a lawyer etc you should bring him along to scare the **** out of them or bring a copy of the lemon law for your state so they cant bull**** you

it just sounds to me someone installed a "tuner blower kit" and never got the injectors/fuel pump and propper tune on their own....Finish upgrading and you should solve the problems and be very happy.
