I have a ford racing monster tach in my car and a week before i parked it, it started jump around and moves at 500 rpms and nothing in between. i think it is wired to the stock tach or something can.t find any where by the coil where it is wired in. Any thoughts?

Have you considered running a jumper wire (outside the car - this is just for testing) from the tach feed to the neg side of the coil? You'll have to disconnect the existing tach feed into your Monster tach of course.
