More diversity needed in the NFL

I’m not in favor of forced hiring and I would not be comfortable with ladies on the locker room after the game. That’s asking a lawsuit besides Limp’s (theoretical?) lawsuit.
I am in favor of merit hiring. And there should be diversity in the qualified candidates.

At 67, I bet most coaches in the NFL are retired. If you have the skills, a school near you is likely looking for a great FB coach.

Anyway, not my game, not my league, not my circus monkeys.

The bucs coach is close, and the Seattle guy I believe is in his 70's..
My point is the 67 year old FAT guy is NOT being hired for his abilities.......

I think there are a lot more professional coaches (people who set out to coach for a living) than you think there are.

I'd also be willing to bet that a player has a better shot of landing a job as a sportscaster than a coach. …
Tom Osborne was on PBS, and Frank Solich is getting a field named after him. Seeing the interview and reading this article reminded me of this discussion.

The only college FB team I give a hoot about has had almost exclusively head coaches with college or college and pro experience for a long time.
Your sample size may vary.

If you missed it, Scott Frost at UNL was fired after game three, and the assistant coach was moved up as interim coach.

I think I’ll like this guy as coach. I picked up a job at semester (mid season), and would not likely do it again. Although I have not heard the $$$ and package offered to him, youthful folly and feelings of invincibility do not seem to be his likely faults.
I think Ron Brown could have done as well as some of the post Osborne head coaches.

Anyway, Erik Chinander, defensive
coordinator, should have been on the way out before the season started. If the Black Shirts would have played with any fire while Frost was coach, there would have been a lot fewer one score losses. If the offense scores 42 points and still loses by 3 points, there are other problems.

Haven't heard much about him but recruiting can make or break a coach. Our last two at LSU proved you just need to surround yourself with good coaching minds and you be the face in mama and daddy's livingrooms. If he is personable and can get good coaches on his staff he could be successful
