Most difficult

Hey all!

I haven't posted or read in quite awhile. Finances forced me to park my '76 a few years ago. I'm glad I parked it and didn't sell it, but it's now in horrible shape.

While the finances are what I want them to be (they never are!), I am hoping to at least start here and there.

The car ran wonderfully for years, and was a daily driver, then one day just quit as I was parking it for the winter. It became the "I'll take a look at it tomorrow" thing, and thus, never did look at it.

So everything is there, but I know I will have to replace/rebuild many parts. What parts, etc., have you found to be the most difficult obstacles? Meaning, is there a part that is impossible to find? Is it better to rebuild something as opposed to replacing? Are there mods that are better/easier than using(finding) original parts?

The body is pretty decent. No major rust that I can see. I have the fiberglass bumpers and those look pretty good too. I'm more concerned with mechanical and interior.

Thanks in advance for any help. I hope I can start working little by little to get it back to where it once was, perhaps even better. It will help me plan things out quite a bit.

You've definitely set my mind at ease a bit more. I felt for awhile it was going to be a very disappointing task.

But now I have to check it out to make sure my gas tank is OK. Is it that a good used one is hard to find, or is it that no one is making replacements?

We'll see how this goes once I'm able to get to it and inspect everything.
