Just wondering what all of your opinons on the most stock engine friendly power adder is. I was reciently in an accident and can no longer drive a stick so I was thinking about getting a blower at the same time as swapping out my tranny but am curious as to which one will be the nicest to my engine. Thanks for any replies.

well you have alot to choose from if you want instant power right of the line i'd say KB twin screw or the other type is a centrifugal works with the rpm band.
Hopefully next year i'll get a ATI procharger super slapper intercooled at 8psi, but it all comes down on where you want the power

Id say some midly aggressive cams/springs along with a good set of headers and a good tune can get u about 50-60 hspwr at the flywheel, maybe a little more. Otherwise a supercharger set at 6psi or 9 psi/intercooled, but these will put more stress on your engine in the long run.

The most engine friendly power adder is one with a great tune. Even the lowest of boost levels can hurt the engine if the tune sucks.

I was thinking something along the lines of a blower at 6 psi with a good tune. I'd like to reach 300 RWHP at least. Basically I want to be able to keep up with with traffic

If you want an engine-friendly power adder, consider the FRPP supercharger: designed by Ford, calibrated/tuned by Ford for your stock Ford engine with low boost (6-psi or so.) Power gains are not in line with 9-psi KB setups of course but it's safe...

Hmm thanks for the replies. The Mongoose kits seem like a good idea. Only question I have is do they have or prefer to install? It says they offer a custom burned chip which is great however I am in Denver and I understang usually you have to get a custom burn for the altitude.

get the mongoose, install it, put it on a dyno to check the A/F. You can fax them your graph and info and they can adjust your chip if needed. They are easy to work with and will do what it takes to make your car perfect. The tunes are usually right on.

Yeah...and crack is a safe drug... As Mossberg pointed out, the plastic manifold doesn't do well when things go wrong.
Another great point Mossberg made was about a good tune - excellent tip and great 'bang' for the buck...no pun intended.

Right. even the old 5.0 intakes can puddle N2o causing probs. I guess it stands to reason this intake can puddle too. I am taking my time selecting N2o, looking for a plate system. (not real serious right now..later) hood clearance not withstanding. (that's why god made scoops and hoods of various sizes and shapes)
still puddling -doh!well that's hot rodding bub.

A nice Eaton based positive displacement blower running in the 6-7psi range like the FRPP or the Allen. Every bit the amount of power that the KB makes (at that level) for considerably less money.
