There are really only 2 major manufacturer's of clay and they are both pretty good. Auto Magic/Wax (Clay Magic) or K.E.L manufacturing (Zaino, Autopia, Mothers, Erazer, etc.) Anyone you buy it from is just relabing one of these manufacturer's products. One of the manufacturers is Clay Magic, can't recall the names of the others. I don't think there really is a bad clay out there these days, you can pretty much buy on price or personal preference and be fine. If you look at the packaging it is pretty obvious that Mothers and Zaino clay come from the same manufacturer.

I tried the mother clay bar not to long ago and I really didn't like it. If fell apart way to fast compared to the claymagic's claybar I used before.

How were you using it? Some clay bars will fall apart if you use them with car wash products rather than a detailing spray.

The detail spay that was supplied with the kit. I thought is was odd the way it fell apart, but a buddy of mine used the kit on his stang with the same complaint.

I had poor results and a hard time using the clay magic ..might have been the paint on the car I was working with ..but after using the Meg clar bay I swear by it also...removed so many imperfections and has a GREAT price!..before using it I would wash with a light amount of dawn or other dish soap..then clay bar then wash then polish and wax! It will give you such amazing results! Be sure and use it on your winshield also..removes all the pitted materials and makes it so slick and clean..

I love the results I got with my Mothers clay bar.

I had no idea that I could use it on the windshield though, I am gonna try thatthis weekend if I have time.

Thanks,
Donny

After using the Mother's Clay bar this weekend, I would have to say that I'm sold. I will try the Meguiars next time if it is cheaper. . .

There has been a lot of paving work done on the highway that I use all the time and my black car had lots of tiny tar globs embedded in the paint. It was so bad that when I washed it, it felt like my sponge had an abrasive and was dragging on the paint (turned out to be the other way around).

I need to claybar the rear of the car again, but the difference it made was fantastic. It just pulled the crap off of the paint.

It's hard for me to understand how the clay bar actually works.. .I soaked an area of the roof of my car with the detailing spray, then spread the clay bar over that spray and it really didn't feel like it was doing anything other than gliding on top of the spray. At certain times it would grab, but that was only the first step of what I did. I compounded after that, polished, then waxed..
