My friend needed to know what the pinon depth shim should be set to on the 8.8 rear end. its all in now but whines on the decceleration and coasting. thats the only thing were unsure about . backlash is set near perfect and has a good pattern.
i have heard very few sets of motive gears that dont whine. me n my old man can do FRPP ring n pinions all day long and have them quiet as stock. he owns a shop and we do performance work on weekends occasionally if we have enough interest, we wont put anything but FRPP gears in fords. the only advice i can give you is make sure you crush the crush sleeve completely because if you dont when it is under a load when your driving it will get crushed the rest of the way down and throw your backlash to ****
