Motor ID??

My buddy's got a 302 that I swapped out of his CJ-7(Put in a 5.0Fuelie)

How do I figure out what year this motor is? Its got a mechanical fuel pump on it,what else can I check without disassemble it. It runs good and I dont want to break it open.

what are you wanting to do to the motor that the year matters? j\w also what year is the jeep? i'm guessing the motor is a carb motor?

Might be going into a 85GT, while the GT motor gets Built(rod knock)

Need to figure what year this motor is so we can get the right balance flywheel. Also want to know its limits. Do the stock heads flow any better than 5.0 heads. Is the bottom end any better or worse than a 5.0

Just reall y need to know what year it is so buying parts is easier. Fords been making these since what 1968?

Maybe someone knows of a book or website?
