Motor Mounts

I was wondering what is better, and what peoples opions are on the different ones. There are the solid mounts and then the polys. The solids are considerably cheaper, and I was wondering what the difference was between the two for ride quality. I would imagine the solids will vibrate like hell.. Just want some info on them, thanks

I've never ran solids but the results of a "search" will indicate they are rather rough for the street. I'm going to use the ford convertable ones (heavy duty) when I stuff the 347 in next weekend.

You are exactly right! If you are looking for mounts for your street car, polys are the only way to go! You can use solids, but you will probably feel it. My old roomate bought a 92 fox that was a drag car, he wanted to change it to a street car, but forgot about the solid motor mounts. You could really tell they were solids when we first drove the car. However, I thought it was kinda cool, the rigidity made it feel like there was some serious power under the hood. SOlids can be a little rough on the rest of the car if you drive a lot of miles too!

solids are for high hp track cars,get the poly's i installed them in my gt in about half hour,the difference is crazy just from them. The car feels to have more torque in 1st gear now.

Solid mounts will rattle the fillings in your teeth loose. It will put more stress on your driveline as well. Go with stock rubber convertible mounts, or poly ones.

I ran solids for a whille and it wasn't too bad. One of the mounts snapped and I went back to the vert mounts, which made the ride smoother. They don't last very long if you race though. My next choice will be poly.
