Mr. Clean Carwash System

Personally I want it for the rinse, not the wash. We have a local car wash with a filtered rinse for a spot free wash. I don't even hand wash my car anymore because I can never get my car to look as good as it does after using filtered spot free rinse. I don't even towel off the car because it only adds scratches.

I my start hand washing now that I can get the same rinse.

You probably already know but just in case, you arent supposed to rinse the car off using the fine mist. You are supposed to rinse the car off with the normal spray selection (usually used to fill the soap bucket up too), then rinse the car a final time with the fine mist. The rinse water will take all of the soap and dirt off with it, and the fine mist will displace the harsh rinse water so it dries to a shine... If you are rinsing with the mist, you are definitely doing things the hard way...

Yes, I know to rinse off using the regular, full force, rinse first.

However, it still takes far longer to completely go over the entire car throughly with that very fine mist, than it takes to carefully wipe the car down to dry it.

I had one for my old car. After a few uses I threw it in the trash and went back to the old fashion way. That thing was a waste of time.

You must wipe awfully fast!

I have to admit that I'm not trying to make sure that I hit every single cm of car directly with the fine mist spray. I've found that a quick but thorough application on the fine rinse setting along with a quick blowdry work very well and don't leave any spotting...all in a fraction of the time it took me to wash, rinse and dry my mustang in the "traditional" way.

You know, I've got like 3 of the kits. Bought them from Target during their after Christmas sale last year in anticipation of giving them as gifts.

The water here in Phoenix is so hard that after 1 wash on my Denali the filter was toast. I went back to the good old fashion way. It doesnt make sense to have to buy a filter at ~$10.00 everytime time I want to wash...

Hmmm, I'm in Denver and I swear we have the hardest water around. I've gotten at least a dozen washings of my truck and motorcycle out of the first soap/filter set, and it still dries spotless.

$10.00 everytime to wash? Wow, where did you buy your filters? I buy mine at Walmart and you get 10 washes for for about $4.00.

You take your time and still take longer to mist the car with the water? I just dont get it, I think I need video footage of you using the mist rinse on the car. How long does it take to walk around the car once with the mist going... Maybe you water pressure is low or something. I can't possibly imagine taking longer to hand dry the car than to mist it over. I am guessing it might take me 60-120 seconds tops to mist over the car well.

yeah, if you have good water pressure, it doesn't take but about 2-4 minutes to hit the entire car, every nook and cranny with the autodry setting. as far as the filters, you're obviously doing something wrong. the first one only lasts about 2 washes, but after that, even with the hardest water, the replacement ones are supposed to be good for about 10 washes, so you should get at the very minimum 5. you gotta be doing something wrong.

rinse entire car. soap and wash the car, 1 section at a time, rinsing after. rinse entire car to ensure no soap is left. autodry.

After my first few uses, and whole process takes me about 20-25 minutes, including wheels.

Maybe I am just being too cautious.

I try to soak down the entire car with the very fine mist, making sure that it rinses off all 100% of the "bad" water. I make sure that absolutely none of the "bad" water remains. I start at the top, and slowly work my way down.

I figured that if any of the very hard "bad" water remains, I will get a spot.

The polymar in the soap takes care of most of the problems as this is what makes the water sheen in the first place. In my experience, there is no need to over do the fine mist.

If you're really worried about your paint fading, yes, but for appearance purposes, probably not. I've used a few different waxes, and fail to see a difference between using wax, and just using Mr Clean well.
