I have a 1990 notch. I am wondering where to put my 6AL on the inside of engine compartment. Not much room.

aluminum on the lower was extremely brittle. I broke a a fuel rail mount. Broke an ear on the upper, screws wouldnt stay tq'd on the upper plenum without using silicone on the threads, and it pooled oil like a mofo. It looked sexy in there though.

I kept the tb and sold it. Got almost what I had into it. Not bad considering it was damaged.

If you have the receipt, back in the box and back to where you bought it. If you dont have the receipt, dumpsters have far more space than your engine bay.

6AL's are notorious for taking dumps on people. Not knocking MSD as they make some great boxes, but do a little research and you'll come up with plenty of accounts (myself included) of the ALs taking a crap for no good reason. Manufacturing flaw. The good news is for $80+ shipping they'll gladly put it back together again!

It's a prominent problem with the 6AL's from everything ive read and experienced. Some guys will go the life of the vehicle and never have a problem, others not so lucky. Maybe they've recently addressed the issue, but its doubtful. Havent heard much of anything bad about any of their other series

Mount it someplace you know it'll stay dry. Water and heat are the major killers of electrical equipment. I'd say mount it in, or on teh back side of your glove box, but if you do that you're bound to have a heater core leak.

down the side of the center console on either side worked for me. Annoying on the leg occasionally though. and under the seat works too. But FYI, some of them buzz pretty damn loud and that gets old pretty fast.
