MSD Distributor woes = (

If its not one small thing its another...

Mabey someone has some wisdom to share on this one though (hopefully).

OK, I have an msd distributor and I was told to get the brass gear...so I go out and get it and I go to do the swap but I CANT GET THE OLD GEAR OFF!! I pushed the little pin out that holds it...but I cant get it off..

Does anyone know a quick/easy or any way to get this off?

They are tight. I used a pitman arm puller if I remember correctly. Make sure you put something in the hex hole at the bottom when you pull it. A small bolt or something, so it puts the force at the bottom of the hex hole. I split one by just trying to pull it with a tapered puller in the hole at the bottom.

I'm not saying this is recommended, but I've used heat, and a hammer with a brass punch. It got the job done. I do like the puller idea, good thinking.
