I have an 03 gt and about to install an MSD Eletronic Ignition. Wondering if it will offer any HP gains?

What is done to the car?

You will not see a gain if the rest of the car is stock, it may just run better.

I agree with maxpowers. If the car is stock you won't see any additional power. If the car is supercharged or runs nitrous an ignition may allow you to run a larger plug gap which can reduce the incidence of misfire. You don't gain power per se, you simply recover what was being lost.

Maybe, until the M(ay)S(uddenly)D(ie) ignition fails and the car doesn't run at all.

I just replaced all my COPS with MSD,due to a miss at about 5,000 rpm. Motor runs as smooth as silk now. As far as HP gains ?, I find out this spring at the track. Most everybody will recommend OEM COPS. I got my MSD's from Summit a lot cheaper.

No power gains with ignition stuff, just things like a smoother-running motor and cleaner spark.

I'm thinking MSD ignition is used timing retarding when boost is applied, more for engine safety. No need unless boosted.
