Hey people,

Right now I have the MSD Blaster coil in this thing with stock ignition system. What would be the benefit of going the whole 9 yards and getting the MSD distrbutor and MSD 6AL box or something?

To get the most benifit out of a box, you would probably need to be running some sort of forced induction setup that blows out the spark in the upper RPM range.

The Distributor is purely for show in my opinion.

That doesn't mean you can't buy them and put them in. You just shouldn't expect any gigantic performance gains from either / both of them.

the msd box is worth it. smooths out the idle and makes it more responsive. my dyno tuner said the same thing about the distributer, that is not worth it

I can see the box helping to produce a better spark and making the car run a little better, but it's not really necessary. The stock ignition is pretty good. But then again, it's my opinion. I don't think people shouldn't put them in, I just think that should be one of the final pieces you or I spend money on.

Box also helps with emissions so I think its totally worth it.
